“Great food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

We made a reservation thru our hotel and were treated very well with a nice corner table. Some are close together so we appreciated the extra room we had.

The maître d' has a lot of personality and was very entertaining. He works a room well.

The setting is very nice, well lit and clean (not in the cleanliness sense, but in style and decor) even though you are dining below street level.

We especially liked the fish in snow – the sea bass baked in salt. We have had it before and their rendition was very good.

Nice wine list with reasonable prices.

We can understand why it is so highly rated.

“Fantastic service and quality food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

One of the best restaurants we tried on a recent trip to Palermo. The attention to details was fabulous and all of our dishes were superb. For a downstairs restaurant the ambiance is actually very impressive. Wine list was very reasonable considering we were previously told it was a very expensive restaurant. The food is slightly high, but the quality makes up for this.

The pasta in particular was very good.

A lovely restaurant for either couples of groups of people. It was popular with the locals which was a great sign of it's high standards.

Probably the best meal we had in Palermo. The service was perfect and the food - just amazing.
It's not big - reservation recommended.

“Best meal we've ever had”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2013

My boyfriend and I spent our last night in Palermo at this restaurant and it was about 106 Euros well spent. There's a door bell you ring at the door and then walk into the 'landing' to wait to be seen to. The dining room is in the basement down the stairs. A waiter asked if we had a reservation but gave us a table anyway despite our lack of reservation. The Maitre'D was great- it was clear the other diners were all locals and regulars by the friendly banter between them. He gave us a wine recommendation that was 20euros- great value and not the most expensive on the list. I chose the calamari and mozzarella to start where my boyfriend had the truffle tortellini. As soon as the dishes came out we knew we where in for a treat. The tortellini was the best dish we've ever had at a restaurant. One of the regulars thought so too and went to the kitchen to compliment the chef. Main was great- I had the tuna tartare which was delicious, light and full of flavour. My boyfriend had the horse meat with potatoes which was also very good. It was the first time we'd both (consciously) tried horse and it was a very nice suprise. A meat that was tender and more subtle than beef. I had the chocolate selection for desert... Chocolate lovers this was heaven. 4 different small tidbits of chocolate - truffle, cake, etc. My partner had the strawberry and vanilla cream millefuelle which tasted like rubard and custard sweets- like childhood, which was both comforting and put a smile on our faces. Overall this is the restaurant to go to for a delicious meal. We had a wonderfully romantic time.
