This place is a Palermo institution, and not to be missed. The ambiance is great and the perfect metaphor for the city itself, busy, a little messy, noisy and some times hard to navigate (check out the food, decide what you want, pay at the cash, go back and ask for your meal) but no trip to Palermo is complete without a stop here. It's not the best of it's type of food (fried) but you can get everything from a panino con la milzza (spleen sandwich) to a plate of perfectly fried and crispy pannelle (chickpea fritters), to a few healthy salad choices. The outdoor piazza seating has a full menu and is very good. This is Palermo's first "Anti Pizzo" establishment and deserves a visit just to support this.
