We really enjoyed our meal at Cucina Papoff. Simple sicilian fare cooked with care. The welcome was very warm and service excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to friends

“The Best Meal I Had in Sicily”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

Tucked away on a quiet side street in Palermo in an elegant space with soaring archways, rough stone walls and high, coffered ceilings, is Cucina Popoff. Both the cooking and the discreet table service in this restaurant are spectacular, far and away the best I experienced in Sicily, a land where excellent cooking is to be expected. I started with a soup of dried fava beans, pasta and fennel. It was so good I could have rolled in it! My partner was equally pleased with his salad of mozzarella, tomatos, honeydew melon and mixed greens, followed by a plate of divine gnocchi in a gorgonzola sauce. We both had the filet of beef served with a wonderful orange sauce. (Sicily is famous for its oranges and lemons.) We enjoyed a bottle of a fine local white wine, Planeta "Cometa", and ended our feast with lemon mousse cake topped with lemon granita. To describe that dessert in one word, AWESOME! I will reverently remember Cucina Popoff as providing one of my best meals I have ever experienced.

“Traditional restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

Dined there with friends. The food and service were very good. We especially liked caponata. My pasta with swordfish was cooked good, but I found it boring and too salty. Lots of locals which is a verry good sign. The prices are moderate. Definitely recommended if you want to dine out.

“Great place to eat in Palermo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2012

Terrific food, great service, lovely employees, great location. As good as any restaurant we found in Sicily. The interior is a little formal looking but the experience is relaxing. We were there with our daughter who is a vegetarian and they were very helpful in recommending appropriate dishes for her. Reasonably priced. Would definitely go back again. Try it!

“Very good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2012 via mobile

The food was very very good, done with care and fantastic ingredients.
The service was courteous and professional.
Medium high price but well worth it since the quantities were also very generous.
The venue is kind of bizzare and old fashioned in a way that will certainly appeal to many. 4.5 would have been fairer but since there were other places which we liked better, we have to settle for a 4 on this one. Bug it's z very strong 4 going on 5.
