“The charm of Palermo is truly embedded at Palazzo Pantaleo”
Reviewed November 26, 2012

My boyfriend and I visited Sicily for the first time this year in October, and I do not exaggerate by saying that staying at Palazzo Pantaleo was one of the highlights of a truly wonderful trip. The rooms are elegant, tastefully decorated and they provide all sorts of modern comfort while still retaining the feeling of a past grandeur. Although it is very centrally located, Palazzo Pantaleo feels like an oasis in the chaos of the city and as soon as you step inside you will find a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast is very abundant and you have plenty to choose from: fresh pastries and fruits, bread, yogurt, a wide selection of jams and fresh juices. And then there is Giuseppe who is a remarkable host and probably the best reason to stay at Palazzo Pantaleo. Not only Giuseppe will help you find your way around town and will advice on the sightseeing, but he will also entertain you with his wit and intelligent views. To truly experience what Sicily is about, stay at Palazzo Pantaleo and you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in October 2012 and what a gem of a place it is. It was easy to find due to us following the simple instructions given to us from the B&B, otherwise we may have struggled. It was literally a minute walk from where the airport bus dropped us and very central in the city. All the staff were very welcoming especially Giuseppe who was absolutely delightful, very gracious and nothing was too much trouble. He also gave excellent recommendations on places to visit and where to eat. The room was very spacious, simple but elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean. No view but that was to be expected. The breakfast was good and Giuseppe had arranged for us to eat earlier than the normal breakfast hours due to us having to leave quite early. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will certainly return again on our next visit to Palermo.

Beautiful room, great location. lots of space, friendly service, be aware street is a pedestrian area on Sundays. Ok the views are not great, but you are right in the centre of town and it is surprisingly quiet.

This is the best ever hotel!! It felt like staying with my best friends or close relatives. I travelled with my 7-year-old daughter and we were looked after in every possible way.

This must be the quietest place to stay in Palermo, as all rooms overlook a quiet private courtyard, which is locked at night. Palermo is a very hectic although beautiful city and to have a completely quiet room was very important for me.

The rooms are huge and spotlessly clean. Each has a balcony.

Breakfast is so fresh and there is a great variety of things to eat. The owner Giuseppe buys fresh local pastries in the morning, there is always plenty of fruit, a variety of yoghurts, and many other tasty things to eat!

Giuseppe has lived in Palermo all his life, so he really knows the places worth seeing or worth going to for an evening meal. He recommended an authentic puppet show, which was of superb quality, where even Italians from the north of Italy queued to get in!

Just talk to Giuseppe, and you will learn things which you will never read in a book! He knows so much about Sicilian politics, culture and life. He will point you at places of interest which cannot be missed!

It was very useful to have a wi-fi. Also the hotel is very conveniently located to the bus stop for the airport and other places outside Palermo.

There is a supermarket within three minutes walk if you want to buy some local cheeses and other treats to take home. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

There is no swimming pool in this hotel but the local buses to a great beach in Mondello stop within 3-minutes walk from the hotel, and it only takes 10-15 minutes!

I am definitely going back, and my 7-year old decided that she wants to be a doctor in Palermo when she grows up!

Room Tip: All rooms are huge and very quiet, all have a wi-fi.

We stayed at this wonderful B & B for two nights last week and were truly smitten by this place and its gracious owner who went out of his way to be helpful all the time .
The rooms are much much nicer than they appear on the pictures, bright and airy, very clean and the breakfast is a real treat. No doubt I will recommend this place to all my friends -

The Palazzo Pantaleo is a wonderful oasis of quiet and calm within the hustle and bustle of Palermo. The rooms are a great size, well furnished and with plenty of storage space to put things away. You even get a small balcony (well we did, and I think most of the other rooms do too !). Set back just off the busy main road, the B&B has a small courtyard to the front, providing free car parking for guests, which is a great bonus, in a city centre location where parking is extremely limited. Location is excellent, being right at the heart of the main shopping areas, but more importantly close by to most of the major sights. Highly recommended, with wonderful service too.

When traveling in Italy one comes upon many unexpected and wonderful "finds". The Palazzo Pantaleo was absolutely one of them. Driving through the rush of Palermo traffic you find yourself dodging traffic and trying not to look at all the beauty and then suddenly you turn down a up-scale street, find the address and sign and then into a beautiful parking square. You are greeted by a wonderful Sicilian man who parks the car and directs you to the elevator to meet Giuseppe. Giuseppe is the owner operator of the Palazzo Pantaleo. As the elevator door opens, you are immediately in the sunny large and pristine common room where a beautiful breakfast is served each day with fresh bakery items or where you can sit and write or read or just have some wine any time of the day. This adjoins a beautiful sitting area where Giuseppe, a master proprietor, warmly greets you in front of his office. The Palazzo Pantaleo has a beautiful series of approximately 6 large and extremely clean rooms that are perfect in all ways. The room we stayed in was very-very nice. The rooms have wi-fi, flat screen tv's, great air conditioning and all that is needed to help you relax and enjoy your stay. The location is super with quick walking access to the main streets in the new city as well as the opera house, other key sights and great shopping. In addition, you are very close to the open markets where you can enjoy the sights, smells, sounds and tastes of Palermo!
Please note that all of excellent reviews you are reading below are true. This is a high quality B & B that should not be missed!

Room Tip: They all seem excellent!
