“Favorite so far in Italy.”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Went in early afternoon. We were the only people in the restaurant. Started with free Presecco. We had an outstanding mussel appetizer and the main dishes were equally as solid - a seafood pasta and veal dish. Service was outstanding and the lone server even threw in a superb calamari taster gratis. It is a bit pricey but well worth it if you are looking to splurge a bit on a no risk and superior meal.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

Don't understand what all the hype is for: we got average food, average minus service and above average prices. Really nothing special.

“Fresh, tasty, divine food and a hearty welcome!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Rain as heavy as a monsoon descended on Messina when our ship docked early November. We decided that the rain wasn't going to put us off our Sicilian lunch so we headed for Ristorante Alberto which was only a 10 minute walk from the port. We were after some fresh seafood and pasta after the promising reviews on here. We were not disappointed. We walked into the restaurant which was modern, crisp white and spotlessly clean and were greeted with a big smile and friendly face. When we sat down we were each given a lovely glass of Prosecco which went down rather nicely thank you very much. This was followed by a large, basket of warm, home baked bread which was just divine and I opted for the lobster linguine and my husband had the macaroni a la mama. OMG, it was so fresh and tasty and had huge hunks of lobster meat, the pasta was al dente and cooked to perfection and the sauce was tasty and silky. The macaroni was gorgeous, lots of cheese and fresh chunks of aubergine to finish it off. Afterwards we were so full that we couldn't eat another thing. But we were given, on the house, fresh Sicilian lemon cake which was outstanding. It's amazing that you can squeeze that wee bit more in when it has sugar in it. We loved our lunch, sitting in wet clothes did not detract from the gorgeous food and I highly recommend a visit. I guarantee you'll not be disappointed. It was honest, fair, reasonably priced food in a lovely environment served by people who genuinely love what they do and it shows through their food. We'll definitely go back if we're ever in Sicily again.

“Get off the ship and find it!!!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

Seven of us walked the town as our cruise ship was docked for the day. We found the place via tripadvisor and the reviews were accurate. Alberto was welcoming and friendly. The prosecco was a nice way to start the meal and the selection will not disappoint. Being a port town seafood is on the menu and it was delicious. Go with the house wine (red or white) and take the time to enjoy the meal.

“Enjoyable seafood lunch on a lazy Sunday”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

We enjoyed a good family meal at Albertos. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and even offered a complimentary half glass of prosecco. We enjoyed the seafood pasta, lobster pasta and seafood grill. English menus available.

Cosy and welcoming. Recommended
