My partner and I visited the duomo in Catania. Be aware of the opening times as its not always open. It's a lot nicer on the outside then the inside and free entry.

Some of the smaller churches are much more impressive inside than the cathedral. The other St Agatha churches are all nearby and are much more interesting, they are rarely open though

Good entrance for disabled but you must be aware when it is open to the public. Lots to see including old Roman baths.

Destroyed and rebuilt several times because of eruptions of the Etna volcano, earthquakes and fires, rebuilt in Baroque style, it still keeps some traces of the original Norman apses. The Duomo is dedicated to Saint Agatha, patron the Catania. The "Piazza Duomo" has in the centre the Fontana dell'Elefante. Around the Piazza there are several bars and restaurants, very cosy and not very expensive. The staff is pleasant. It's nice to have your snack facing the Cathedral.

This is one of many nice churches in Catania. While not as large or elaborate as other cathedrals we visited throughout Europe, it is one of the major tourist sites in the city and is located in the main piazza. It’s known for containing the tomb of St Agatha and the composer Bellini.
