The good: a very spacious room that was almost a mini apartment. Clean, quiet, with a comfortable bed. An easy walk to Via Etna. Staff are fine.

The bad: breakfast on our first morning was a disaster. A tour group had just eaten - and stripped the food from the tables. I had to clear a table. It was a shambles.

The ugly: the horrible graffiti on the outside wall.

The breakfast experience was unfortunate - without it, I would have rated this hotel higher. But overall we had a good stay. And Catania is a great place - superior to Palermo!

Room Tip: Try to avoid the tour groups at breakfast.

Don't let the exterior fool you, the hotel really is a good choice for even a longer stay in Catania.

We came to this hotel quite suddenly after leaving our previous B&B after just one night stay and stayed for three nights. We got a room quickly and the staff were very polite and nice. The room itself was on 9th floor with a great view over the city. The location is very good, in the center of everything and near some real good restaurants (for example Trattoria La Norma few blocks away, very popular with the locals, too). You can't hear traffic sounds in the room and the air-con is great! Also you get a free water bottle in the room with robe and slippers (nice extra). The hotel restaurant was not that great but breakfast buffet was good - including scrambled eggs, bacon, breads and rolls, fruits, juices, yoghurts, sweets etc. etc. Very generous for Italy!

The rooms very nice, very modern, bed very comfortable and the bathroom was also spacious and just great! Everything worked perfectly. The free parking was more than great!!!

Wifi (free) was quite slow but worked anyway.

It is not the first that I stayed at NH Bellini in Catania and I have always found it to my satifactory. It is centrally situated and if using public transport , the bus stop is just a few meters across from the hotel.

Also parking is available for free, one can find various retaurants in the vicinity of the hotel.

If staying in Catania I do recomend this hotel.

Although this hotel doesn't look much from the outside (there is some particularly unsightly grafitti on on the walls), inside it is extremely pleasant. The hotel reception staff are very helpful and we upgraded our standard room for 15 euros per night to include a bigger room, free internet and free minibar. The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean with fabulous toiletries in the bathroom plus other things like hairbrush, razor, etc. Breakfast was pleasant with a good selection of pastries, cheeses etc

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Duomo and the fish market, walking through some great shopping.

We used the hotel as a base for touring Etna. We found a local guide, Francesca Lugano, who was amazingly passionate and interesting about the volcano.

Room Tip: see about upgrading on arrival

Great hotel nicely located with in the city of Catania. Has a very warm, moden and comfortable feel that welcomes any traveler yet is kept at a more comfortable cool tempreture.

The room was just as pleasing to the senses, even though there were a bug or two.

The staff were just as wam and comforting as the hotel and there wasnt an topic they were not informative on, and couldnt support your holiday needs enough.

Room Tip: I picked the siplist of rooms and was very pleased at the quality and standard, so if you choose the...

I stayed in this hotel for a week last year and when I returned for just one night this year it was like returning to good friends. The staff are tremendously helpful, able to sort out travel details, where to eat etc. Wifi works well in the lobby and the rooms are comfortable with lovely bathrooms.
I am hoping my work will take me to Catania again as it is a great city to wander around and has good shopping and eating.

I stayed at this hotel in May 2012 as part of an Insight Vacation group tour. The hotel is very modern, the room was spacious and had a great bathroom. Some people in our group complained, though, of the size of the shower in their rooms. I had a room with a full tub/shower. The group breakfast was the best of all the hotel breakfasts we had on the tour. The hotel was centrally located and had great shopping within just a few minutes walk. I can't believe anyone would give this hotel a rating of anything less than excellent. I rated it only average for sleep quality, but that's because all the hotel beds I slept in while in Sicily seem to have very hard mattresses.
