We stayed in Catania for 5 nights. We attended the opera and were looking for accommodations that was near the opera house.

As we were looking for lodging, we were struck by the rave reviews for the Suite Inn. We started comparing other rooms and decided to book with Suite. And we definitely made the right choice.

Catania is an old town with narrow streets. A lot of character. There are many places for lodging within the older buildings. Suite Inn is no exception. It is located on a main street. Via Vittorio Emmanuale. The street is safe and not noisy. One would think of staying on a side street, but that is not a good idea because all the bars are located there and it gets very noisy at night. Not only weekends but almost every night. So think about that when booking. Tons of young people socialize in the evening and while they are not rowdy, they are noisy. Don't be alarmed when you first approach the building. It looks like "What did we book?!?!" All the building look like that. It gives the appearance of being run down, but it's not. Once you enter into the courtyard, it's perfect!

The location is only 2 blocks from the opera house and a very short walk to the famous outdoor fish market. I strongly suggest you visit the market. You can see Mt. Etna from some of the side streets that is near Suite Inn. There is a great coffee shop next door to the entrance to the building. Great cappuccino!!!

When you enter the courtyard of the building Suite Inn is located in, you are struck by the fact that this is one old beautiful building. You need to climb 3 flights of marble stairs. If you cannot climb stairs, stay away from this property. In fact, stay away from Catania because almost all of the accommodations have no elevators. You enter the courtyard with your own key. After you climb the stairs, you enter the Suite Inn floor and use another key if the staff is not there. The staff has good long hours, so usually someone is always at the desk.

We were greeted by Marco who was expecting us and knew us by name. He is courteous and professional. Our room was up ANOTHER short flight of stairs!! The room was spacious and efficient. No fancy pictures. But comfort and clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. Closet space was adequate as well as drawer space. The bathroom was immaculate and came with soap and shampoo and a hair dryer. The shower is a little small and if you are a larger person, it may be a problem. We needed an iron and asked the desk for one and it was brought up to us immediately. The room is cleaned every morning and spotless. No knocking on the doors to "make" up the room. If you put your Do Not Disturb sign outside they don't disturb you at all. The heat and ac worked fine and there were windows in the sleeping area as well as the bathroom.

Breakfast was great! Whoever is the staff that morning will make you a cappuccino or an espresso. There are freshly made biscuits, fresh fruit, juice, and of course salami and cheese. Also very clean and decorated beautifully!

The staff loves to interact with the guests and will offer places to eat or see. They all speak English and while I tried to practice my Italian, they practiced their English.

I don't have any complaints. Maybe people would not like the stairs, but we didn't mind at all.

I rate Suite Inn as Excellent because it is Clean, Safe, Quiet, and the staff is Terrific!!

Shout out to Marco!!! You're the best!! We will definitely stay at Suite Inn again!!

Room Tip: In Catania stay on the main roads. The side streets have all the bars and is noisy!

What made us decide for this B&B was the decoration and design of the lobby, rooms and breakfast place. It is just what you see on the pictures. Although its location on the third floor of a Palazzo (no lift), the personnel is aware of this and will assist you with your luggage. Once on the "appartment" you will just confirm you made the choice. Giuseppe was the guy who explained us everything and was always willing to help. Our room was in front of the breakfast place and was so comfortable. A balcony looking Catania's roofs and a street full of life at night, a desk and a bathroom where you need to be very careful and litter on the basket only. The breakfast was great, complete and in a neat place. The personnel will serve coffee or tea.
Just in front of Suite Inn there's another B&B. The Palazzo is one block from the Tourist information office, three from the main square where is Santa Agatha's Cathedral, the Elephant and Obelisc fountain and the start of so lively Vía Etnea.
I do recommend to stay in Suite Inn.

Room Tip: All the rooms are clean. The one in front of breakfast place has a balcony.

Coming in to Sicily via Catania on Easyjet, it made sense to spend a couple of days in Catania itself. Catania's centre is relatively small and the city is not particularly pretty but we really liked it and found it charming. Well worth a couple of days exploration. The Suite Inn was equally charming, modern decor but relaxed approach from the lovely Flavia, the owner and manager. Rooms spotlessly clean, simple but adequate breakfast and right in the heart of the old town. Driving and parking as with every other city in Sicily is a challenge but Flavia's husband and co-owner Christian informed us that they will have four bespoke parking spaces for the hotel shortly. He helped us find a parking space upon arrival. All the team helpful and informative. Right price, right location and lovely people. Bravo!

Room Tip: We had one room for us and one for the kids, our room included bathroom with toilet that you could flush with toilet paper, theirs didn't. If that sort of thing bothers you, then ask for the room with the extra convenience!

We stayed in Suite Inn for 1 night only, the hotel was easy to find, short drive from the airport. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was good size, very clean and most importantly - very comfy bed. The breakfast was very basic but all in all it was a good value for the money. The B&B is located in the center of Catania - perfect for exploring the city.

This hotel was really good for the price. Our room was very spacious, the ceiling was so high like in an italian palace. The bathroom was small but fine and clean. The receptionist very friendly and professional. We stay two nights there because it was somehow enough to visit Catania but I wish I could have got the same quality in the other hotels we had in Sicily. Even more expensive wouldn't have been a issue. Definately one of the best and cheapest hotel I had. Very good experience. Clean, very spacious, high quality bedding, double glazzing window, very well located like max 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. We didn't want to take the breakfast at the hotel so cannot really comment on this and just a small inconvenient you have some marble stairs to climb first but it is actually the charm of italian palaces.
