“A real highlight”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Absolutely worth a trip here. We went twice we liked it so much - once from the San Vito end and once from the Scopello end. The paths are well defined, so although you probably need pumps, you don't need walking boots. Possible to walk to one of the beaches, spend the day day there, and walk back, though you do need to take all provisions. Only 3 EUROS to get in - absolute bargain. Beaches you can only dream of. One of the only places that looks better than the photos!

“Spectacular hike with snorkeling!”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

we spent a day hiking, starting on the Scopello side. had backpack with snorkeling gear, and hikes along the trails to the various Calas/beaches, then hiked down, back up, and to the next Cala/ beach. The hike was great, the scenery spectacular- a great way to spend a day. The Snorkeling in Sicily is not as spectacular as Hawaii or the Caribbean- there are fish but not too colorful. Yet the rock formations, little coves, etc. make it a great fun thing to do.I had a blast. You can make it a relatively easy hike- by not going too far in- or more vigorous by continuing for miles. The entry fee was a couple of euros or so-basically nothing for such a great experience.

“Amazing experience”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

The Zingaro Nature Reserve is an absolutely beautiful place, well worth the visit. Close to San Vito lo Capo, a popular destination in the north coast of the island. The views are breathtaking, the beach beautiful and the see cristal clear. Unspoilt and pristine. SImply perfect. Highly recommend!!!

“Warning for cyclists!”
Reviewed June 28, 2013

A word of warning for cyclists planning to use the path to get from one side of the reserve to the other - you can't! We had planned a route before going that lead us over the hills to the northern entrance to the park and intended using the track to link up to the road taking us to Castellammare, a few miles down the coast.

We arrived after a long day cycling only to be told by the ticket guy that bicycles weren't allowed. This would mean a 30-mile detour, retracing our footsteps over 4 of he steepest hills in the region. We tried arguing, saying we would be pushing the bikes and not riding them, but he was adamant. Other English-speaking visitors tried intervening on our behalf but to no avail.

Eventually he suggested we waited until he went off duty at 19.30 and just go anyway, which we did. So 2 hours later we set off. It was soon obvious why bikes aren't allowed! The path is narrow, quite rocky and in some places involves steep climbs, scrambling over very rough terrain.

We got to the other end (about 3 miles) just as it was getting dark - any later and we would have had real difficulty in navigating the route.

“Great place in Sicily”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The proximity from San Vito Lo Capo was great for us and we enjoyed very beautiful day in the Lo Zingaro reserve. Wonderful hiking, although be aware that there are not many shadows on the paths, so on a sunny day it might be very exhausting. Bring a lot of water! We visited Zingaro in June and it was started to be crowded - a lot of people on path along coast, but still free places on very beautiful beaches. I recommend the entrance from the side of San Vito Lo Capo and if you prefer beaches, you can start with first two - very nice! You have to pay entrance fee of 3 euro (2 for students, free for seniors), but many small museums along the path are included. Worth a visit, but might be overcrowded in summer.
