“OK Hotel in City Centre Location”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

We stayed here for 6 nights in June 2012. The hotel was really easy to find, being only 5-10 minutes walk from the City's Railway Station, and being on the City's main shopping street. As far as we could see it was the only hotel actually in the City Centre.

We had booked a comfort double with 'French' Bed, (whatever that was), but was allocated a standard double room, which was on the 1st floor at the end of a corridor (room 102). After travelling on a hot train from Olbia for a couple of hours we were ready for a shower, but found that one of the sliding shower doors was broken, and had to be lifted to close properly. Later we mentioned this to the guy on reception and he said he would attend to it over the next couple of days, but nothing happened. The cleaner must have had problems with the door every day, so I assume the hotel were content to leave it broken. After unpacking our luggage I couldn't be bothered to change rooms, and as the rest of the room was fine we didn't mention it again.

The hotel itself if ok, with a good breakfast / dinner room with plenty of choice for breakfast. There is a small lounge area with a tv and some novels to read.

Probably the hotels best feature is it's location, being right on Sassari's main shopping street, and only a few minutes walk from numerous bars and restaurants.

Would I book this hotel again? Probably, if I was ever visiting Sassari again, but I would want to check out the room first.

Room Tip: Avoid room 102 (Broken Shower Door). It's also right above the restaurant so you can hear chare...

Very clean and spacious rooms as well as the service. I wouldn't suggest the restaurant that's in the hotel though. Other than that and considering value for money, thumbs up!

I have spent 17 nights in April 2012 in this hotel situated in the center of Sassari. The hotel is nicely situated in the old center of Sassari and everything is easily accessible by food. The personal of the hotel is very friendly and forthcoming. They quickly responded to all of my "extra-demands". The hotel looks really nice and clean and so do the rooms. One drawback of the hotel is that it has no own parking. So you need to park your car on Piazza Manzoni which is just arround the corner of the hotel. You normally can easily find parking spots there, however if you arrive between 18h - 20h it can sometimes take a while before finding a parking spot. The hotel has also its own restaurant. Food there is of high quality and it is the best restaurant I went to in this part of the town. Unfortunately the menu card is rather little so eating there too often is not adviced.

To sum it up ... I will go back there next time I am in Sassari ....

we arrived in Sassari without a plan. Driving into the old city we came across the hotel. They had a room free for one n ight and it was perfect for a short stay: quite, good bed, modern badroom and very clean. The staff was very helpfull: they gave a very good tip about a very nice restaurant in the neighbourhood, and for the next day a suggestion for a trip to the most beautifull beach ever seen.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quite, you can sleep with the window open

The hotel didn't inform us about the construction works going on in the vicinity (2m from our window). The workers (working with hammers and pneumatic drills!) would start at 8.30am and finish after 5pm. If you could still resist to that noise, you would certainly be woken up by the cleaning ladies shouting at each other and banging doors or by somebody cleaning the conference room on the 4th floor and pulling chairs the whole morning. When we mentioned this at the reception, we were told we should have had called the reception (I wonder what they could do once you're awake) and refused any discount or refund!

My friend and I needed a place to stay in Sassari for a night after going one the "Little Green Train" before heading back to Alghero. This hotel was excellent, it was only 79 Euros and very very clean. It had everything you would find in a business traveller's hotel. Decent breakfast too. The guy on reception was very friendly, spoke excellent English and helpful in regards to bus times etc etc.

It's worth going to Sassari to have a look around, although there is not much to do the beer is cold and they give you free food with it!

Highly recommended!

I stayed at this hotel last year. It's a nice hotel. It could be a 4 star but I think it is a 3 star because of the size of its rooms (a bit small).
The rooms are very clean and well decorated (nothing special but tasteful). Breakfast was correct. We paid 70 €/night.
I recommend going to Sassari a nice place with nice people (somtehing you can't find at the sardinian coast).
