We chosen Li Cuncheddi for our honeymoon back in 2009 and it was amazing! The views were by far the best in the area and the beach just a 2 minute walk! I really loved everything about it. The deco was relaxing and integrated so well with the surroundings. Great piano bar to have a drink just before dinner and enjoy the sunset. The food in the restaurant was delicious as well and all the staff courteous and friendly. Will definitely go back if in we have a chance but with so much to explore in Sardinia, might be another couple of years : ( My parents in law went there last year for 4 days and they spoke really highly of the food, service and facilities!
If you are uncertain, trust me and pick Li Cuncheddi! It is not pretentious or pure luxury but we really felt in paradise.

Room Tip: Ground Floor with Terrace overlooking the pool and direct access to it is lovely.

We flew from Gatwick and hotel is an easy 15min cab ride from the airport. Lovely little cove with views to the entrance of Olbia harbour...plenty of ferries to and fro but fun to watch and not an issue for us at all. Nice pool and grounds pleasant and well looked after.
Likes
Food was generally good (less so first night but improved rapidly) - it appears some English guests were less keen but we thought it was absolutely fine with good service (we are an Anglo-Italian family). Breakfast was also perfectly acceptable...nothing fantastic but this is not a 5* hotel so you would not expect 5* breakfast. Lunch offer was also OK and buffet much better option than the grilled fish.
Very clean throughout
Staff was mostly helpful and kind
Evening entertainment (Leo) was superb...great fun to listen to his songs sipping mirto on the terrace under the stars.
Pool area nice and probably re-done recently. Pool was excellent
Dislikes
Beach was too crowded for us
Rooms are very very small so take some getting used to. Weird bathrooms with shower in the middle (a kind of wet room) not ideal
Wi-fi only really works in reception area (then again..who cares)

Overall somewhere between 3* and 4* so not cheap but great location and good service. Will go again but not for more than a week as it would get boring.

We spent twelve nights at this hotel. The reception was perfectly adequate although somewhat cool. The hotel is well designed and the bedrooms were particularly thought out. The hotel would appear to encourage young families and children are well looked after. However the penalty was an excessively noisy entertainment system which was very disruptive.
The food at breakfast and dinner was unimaginative and not terribly well presented or indeed prepared. The lunch was generally very good but did become somewhat repetitive after the first week.
The hotel is very well located and the beach facilities were good.

We were looking for a secluded hotel right on the beach and close to Olbia airport and the Li Cuncheddi hit the mark for us. The location on the Capo Careso peninsula is very beautiful - you can look across the Gulf of Olbia from the beach and pool area and see the mountains on the other side. Many of the rooms have lovely sea views too - we had one on the ground floor with a terrace where we could watch lovely sunsets. The rooms are quite simply furnished and not what I would call luxurious, but they are spotlessly clean. The public area were really comfortably and the staff were very friendly. There are life size cuddly sheep everywhere - a little design touch added by the architect when the hotel was refurbished. Children seemed to love them and some of the adults too! By the middle of September some of the facilities were starting close - the outdoor beach cafe closed while we were there and the hot tubs in the garden were also shut. The hotel itself was quite busy, but not overcrowded in any way. However the area itself was quite deserted. The breakfast at the hotel were fine - with lovely fresh bread and pastries. The fruit selection was variable. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant - the menu looked quite high end and a little of the fussy side. We found small trattoria just up the drive amongst the adjacent holiday apartments. The food here was simple, but there was as lovely view across the bay. There's also a good pizzeria at the far end of the drive (about 15 minute walk) with a wood burning oven. Very simple decor - but excellent pizzas. The best food we ate was at a small restaurent in the nearest village Murta Maria - it's called La Pergola and is just by the roundabout. A lot of local people seemed to eat there and it was always busy. The fish dishes looked superb and the pasta was excellent. Well worth a try. All in all we had a lovely stay and you can walk for miles on the sandy paths around the peninsula. Swimmking in the sea was gorgeous.

Great hotel, comfortable rooms and good food and good service. We had a sea view room which was lovely. Because of poor euro we went half board which saved us a lot of money, although its worth swapping a couple of dinners for lunch and experiencing the local pizzeria and the views. The italians don't start dinner till 8pm so it worth giving your kids a knap after lunch (which the italians do anyway as it gets very hot).
The hotel is expensive for drinks etc but I did not mind paying it as the hotel was full but not at all crowded. The pool is great, very clean and great for kids. Equally the private part of the beach is wonderful with gorgeous clear blue water (watch out for the rocks to the left..ouch!) with lots of sunbeds and shades. I noted a few people on trip advisor complained they did not get the front row beach loungers, this is no big deal..they should get a life!
Italians are great people and love kids, ours had a great time and played with lots of other Italian kids despite not speaking the language. Sardinia is where Italians go on holiday so it is worth learning a few basics in Italian. If you can't be bothered then don't go! My 2 year old learnt how to say 'chow' and 'grazzi' which goes along way. One of the nice things about the hotel is that there were very few English!
Staff were always helpful, polite. Between parrot fashion Italian and English, they are only human and great, as were the other guests in the hotel. As I said the hotel isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for!
We flew into Alghero Airport which is 130 km away from the hotel. Next time I will fly to Olbia airport which is only 20 minutes away. Plus I never way to fly Ryan Air again..stressful!
