We liked this place but would have liked it more if a room overlooking the woods had been available. The architecture of the hotel is a bit charmless but the people there were welcoming and warm, so we had a good time. The restaurant was closed but the nice English-speaking receptionist booked a dinner for us at the other hotel, which is an encouraging example of business co-operation. She could not have been more helpful - she offered to look after our luggage during the day when we were leaving so that we could collect it after a mountain walk. We also appreciated her offer to boil us eggs for breakfast in the morning. The setting is lovely. It seemed odd that in Sardinia the most beautiful places often had bits that needed maintenance or redecorating, and this hotel looked from the outside as if it was due for a little bit of DIY, but inside it was cheerful and pleasant. We would have loved to have a kettle and tea/coffee in our room as you always get in the UK and Ireland, but this is not available in Sardinia. A hotel that offered it would have a flock of grateful travellers!
