“Nice, friendly”
Reviewed April 22, 2012

We liked this place but would have liked it more if a room overlooking the woods had been available. The architecture of the hotel is a bit charmless but the people there were welcoming and warm, so we had a good time. The restaurant was closed but the nice English-speaking receptionist booked a dinner for us at the other hotel, which is an encouraging example of business co-operation. She could not have been more helpful - she offered to look after our luggage during the day when we were leaving so that we could collect it after a mountain walk. We also appreciated her offer to boil us eggs for breakfast in the morning. The setting is lovely. It seemed odd that in Sardinia the most beautiful places often had bits that needed maintenance or redecorating, and this hotel looked from the outside as if it was due for a little bit of DIY, but inside it was cheerful and pleasant. We would have loved to have a kettle and tea/coffee in our room as you always get in the UK and Ireland, but this is not available in Sardinia. A hotel that offered it would have a flock of grateful travellers!

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the woods, not the road.

We stopped in Belvi for just 2 nights while touring Sardinia and it was one of my favourite places we stayed. The Hotel is close to Punta La Marmora - the highest summit on Sardinia and in the perfect location for walking, relaxing or just peace and quiet.

Stella and her family are wonderful and very welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised how new the hotel was and the rooms were clean and spacious. We had lovely views across the valley and our stay was exceptional value for money.

We’d definitely stay again!

This is a family run hotel, who gave us a wonderfully warm welcome and delicious home cooked food, the best of our trip in fact. The hotel itself is modern, practical and clean, nothing exceptional but with large comfortable rooms. We loved the magnificent panoramic views over the national park from our balcony. We slept like logs with the doors open and awoke to woodsmoke and goat bells. Beautiful and truely tranquil perfect to do some walking, cycling or riding from. Magic, we didn't want to leave.
