The rooms are nice but the lack of windows to the outside ruins everything. Air conditioning works good but not in all rooms, shower doors are broken in 201. The location is superb, losts of restaurants around, not far to the train and bus stations.

Very central location, in the middle of all the restaurants and cafés of the Marina district, at easy walking distance from train and bus stations. This causes a trade-off: either you're in a room at the front with daylight and high noise levels, or (like us) you're in a room under the stairs with no daylight (103). Some of those are directly off reception and the front door is often open, so it's still regularly noisy.
Breakfast is one great sweet roll and one wonderful coffee at the nearby Café Roma. Rest is extra.
Mind the policy of this hotel to charge you for your whole stay in advance (in our case, 4 nights). Once you've done that, it becomes very difficult to change your plans.
My advice: Make sure you don't pay anything until you've seen the room! And I for one am never going to pay up front for a number of nights again.

Room Tip: Carefully choose between relative quiet and daylight. Higher floors are probably better.

Great location, very helpful and friendly personal
There is one room, near the stairs, without windows...
Our room was on south side, there are a lot of restaurants. But with closed windows it doesn't disturb us. The air condition worked fine.

We had no particular expectations of this hotel when we arrived by boat from Sicily. We were very fortunate that it was within walking distance ( even with bags) from the port. Ok so there were a few stairs to walk up from street level to get to our room but we soon realised we were staying in the very heart of Cagliari.

Step outside the hotel and within 50 metres either side you come across about at least 15 restaurants! Within a few minutes walk and there are so many trattorias to chose from it starts to become difficult! Not only that ,one block away and one can take a fantastic walk along the beautifully marina.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were great. I would definitely recommend the Arcobaleno especially given the very reasonable rates.

The B and B is 2 minutes away from both, the Cagliari Bus Station and the Train Depot. It is 1 minute from the port and a 15 minute long leisurely slow climb from the castello and the main shopping area. The room is clean, in fact not even the "Do not Disturb" sign could keep the staff back from cleaning one time. The personnel is extremely kind, like pretty much always in Italy and speak not much English (like usually in Italy) but can be understood well, like all the time in Italy.

Room Tip: The rooms in the front can be loud during the tourist season.

We have booked this hotel intending to stay for 2 weeks as it looked very nice from the pictures. We did expect some noises as it is located in the city. However what we experienced was far beyond any tolerable limit. To the right and left side of the entrance of the hotel are tables of two adjoining restaurants and on the other side of the narrow via sardegna are tables of another two restaurants. The voice level of the guests are at a very distinctive pitch and continous from 11.30 a.m to 16.30 p.m. Dinner starts at 18,00 p.m and last all night until 1.30 a.m, Once the guests have left, the staff of the restaurants are settling down on the outside tables and chatting until 4.00 a.m. From 8.00 am on the street is open to some trafic, so there are actually only 4 hours of some calm left each night. Even so we were rooming on the second floor and had the shatters and the windows closed sleeping was impossible.

Room Tip: There are no rooms to the backside. There are rooms on the first and second floor with windows to th...

Gentile cliente,

Cordialmente

Liked:
Location: you can walk everywhere from here
Breakfast: no breakfast in house but you get a voucher to use at Bar Roma (quintessential Italian proper cafe) much better than a miserable hotel breakfast
Rooms: large with air con. Large bathrooms. Big wardrobes
Didn't like:
No parking which is a pain. Free car park is 15 mins walk (which the owner seemed to be unaware of).
Rooms on street can be noisy til past 1am. However with windows shut and air con on this was
not an issue for me.
Nowhere to sit and relax - a garden would be lovely.

Not sure how much English the reception staff speak , think not much. Service is helpful in a laid back Italian way.

Room Tip: Choose a street facing room high up. At least you have a view down to the bustling Via Sardegna. Roo...
