Went here early morning so the walk was not too hot. Nice site but only limited access at present. You can get to go down the walkway but not into the anfiteatro itself. Most of the site can be Sen from the road.

This Anfiteatro Romano is a testimony of the Roman past, but it`s a pity that they don`t care about it.

You can actually see this from the sidewalk which runs around the outside perimeter...handy because there is a lot of work going on to restore the site and it is shut to the public while the contractors carry it out. Given time (?) it'll re-open and will be improved for it, meantime go visit, take some pics through the fence and then go get a cold drink.

A few of us climbed up the hill to find the amphitheatre, direction signs were poor. The closer we got the less inviting the surrounding. We walked by used syringes and other hazards before turning back to the town. I did want to go inside the theatre and maybe should have joined an organised trip. Many other couples gave up too.

The Roman Amphitheater in Cagliari was closed at the time of my visit, for renovation, but one could get very good views through the fence surrounding it.

This fence is situated well above the level of its stage, so actually it's quite good to be able to get that panoramic view, almost all around it.

Since it is located not far from the main museums in the city's historic centre, it's worth to walk the few steps and get a brief impression of it.
