“Best Hotel I've stayed in in Cagliari!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2011

This hotel is a stunning hotel and the location is amazing!

I have stayed here 3 times when going back to Sardinia, my home, with friends and family and we always have a blast!!

Everyone one is really friendly and the really helpful and Johnny, the manager, is great. He is British and made all my friends for the UK feel right at home.

The hotel is right on the beach and you can roll out of bed and be Poetto Beach and then in the sea in a matter of seconds!

I would much rather stay here than in the centre of Cagliari. You need a car in Sardinia, no matter, what so you are only a couple of minutes drive town.

If you can stay in the suite on the top floor I would highly recommend it as it is huge and the views are amazing!

Room Tip: Top floor suite has amazing views and is amazing!

Cagliari was the last step of my Sardinian tour in September 2011, so I decided to book at Chentu Lunas, which is at the Poetto beach. A small two-storied boutique hotel, with only 7 charming rooms.Room was very large, absolutely clean, with a large double bed, with minibar, TV, aircon, bathroom with all the necessary amenities. I selected the room on the second floor with balcony and sea view. Of course during the day there is some noise from the parking area and the restaurant on the ground floor, but over night everything turned silent and I had a very good sleep in the comfortable bed. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful in offering information about the interesting things in Cagliari. Breakfast is included and is Italian typical style (but if you ask, you get also cheese, ham and toasts). The price is not the cheapest, but the 85 Euro/night I paid were worth for the excellent value of the room and hotel . Poeto beach is a long (over 12 km) and large sandy beach, which was very crowded even in September (special in the afternoons). From the hotel there is a short drive to the city center, for visiting the cathedral and the numerous churches, the City of Museums (a must for everyone visiting Cagliari), the Remy bastion and the castle (from top of the hill there is a wonderful view over the city). The Chentu Lunas hotel as at ground floor a restaurant where lunch and dinner are served (mostly seafood), but at the beach there are also some other good places (I recommend the restaurant La Pirata, among others for very tasty pizzas). For a cheaper meal, go to downtown Cagliari, where lot of terraces offer fresh and tasty food at reasonable prices. All in one, I enjoyed a lot my stay at the Chentu Lunas Hotel for its great position near the beach, for the fact that it is outside the hustle and bustle of the city center but still in short driving distance, and not at least for the relaxing room with its large balcony.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony and sea view, some of the others facing the petrol station have no balco...

When I stayed here I was attending a conference at Fiera Internazionale Della Sardegna. This hotel is right on Poetto Beach Marina, but the bus-stop to the conference venue is right next door and it's frequent. The other delegates were jealous, because I was staying on the beach! Some of them switched to this hotel from city centre hotels, when they found out about it.

Good points:
1. location!
2. nice, large balcony facing the marina, could hear the waves and see them through the trees.
3. good coffee in hotel bar
4. clean bathroom

Bad points:
1. Not so much choice for good restaurants nearby
2. continental breakfast was basic (but fresh and tasty nevertheless)
3. v small kitchen, so no proper restaurant - limited choice for evening meals, but great fresh fish each day
4. no sound-proofing, so heard noise from the room next door

Bottom line: when in Cagliari- if I can't stay at T-Hotel-I would stay here. It provides a beach holiday but it's still very much in the City.
