The Maria Pia beach is very beautiful with trees and plants - not only sand. Not so many people there.

You won't find a better beach in Alghero, simple as that. White sand and crystal clear water make this beach so beautiful that it wouldn't be out of place in the Caribbean. Make sure to head towards the pine trees for some much needed shade!

Lovely beach fairly close to the town center. White sand, turquoise water, pine woods for shade, a fair amount of places for drinks and food.

This was our beach of choice whilst staying in Alghero. It was a reasonable walk from Alghero town, and where we were staying, approx. 30 mins.

The beach itself is beautiful, hidden behind a wall of pine trees (which make for great shade if you can't be bothered to bring an umbrella), with white (hot) sand and clear (but freezing cold) water.

It's shallow enough that it's safe for the kids to swim in, and you may see little schools of fish.

We tended to bring food with us, as everything apart from the pizza's, were overpriced. Bring plenty of water also, as it is quite far to the nearest convenience store, although again you can buy at the beach if you don't mind paying.

It makes good fun to cycle there, as there are plenty of well laid out cycle lanes, and then reward yourself with a nice cold dip in the sea.

No need to go to any other beach, as it's much nicer than the neighbouring ones (the one nearest to the port town smells strongly of rotten seaweed).

Word of warning: you will be approached to buy sunglasses, hats, games and massages whilst at the beach. We found that a firm no was sufficient, and it didn't ruin our overall experience of an otherwise lovely beach.

Nice beach a little way from town with plenty of sunbeds and umbrella sections for hire or public beach sections with a selection of cafe type premises dotted along the way. Best to get there early, as it gets really busy after 10am.
