I have to say that after reading some of the previous comments etc; we were somewhat sceptical of staying at this hotel. However I’m glad to report that we had a most enjoyable stay. I can’t understand the comments about the staff being rude because everyone that we came into contact with were most pleasant and friendly. Our room was ready when we arrived early on the day of check-in and it was large and extremely clean with a good sized bathroom and WOW what a view! We looked right out over the pool and out onto the Med – the sunsets were amazing :-). The stroll into town takes less than 10 mins and it’s very welcomed after a large Sardinian meal at one of Alghero’s many superb restaurants!!
There are loads of sun loungers available at the pool which is actually a sea water pool and very refreshing. There is free bottled water in the rooms and as it was our anniversary we received a bottle of sparkling Sardinian wine with compliments of the manager which was a lovely touch! Yes, you do have to pay for the tea and coffee facilities in the room (don’t use them anyway) & the WiFi was €4 for 24 hours, which now a days you’d expect to be free. Breakfast was good with a large choice and a tasty omelette bar. I would most certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family and would defo stay here again.

Room Tip: it's worth paying a little extra for a sea view.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, in May. Lovely room, very comfortable, very clean. We removed the strange table in the bathroom, which got in the way, and we could not understand why it was there. The poolside bar has lovely views over Alghero and the sea. The hotel is a tidy step from the centre of Alghero, but we like to walk and the walk along the promenade is on the flat and easy. Alghero itself is very attractive and bustling with several good restaurants.
The hotel swimming pool is large and in May a trifle bracing, as is unheated, but once in a swim in very refreshing. The quality of the food was good, no complaints at all.
The staff were friendly and helpful, if treated well people will usually respond in the same way.

Many people have said on here that this is not a 5 star hotel and based on other 5 star establishments we have stayed in, it is not. Just to explain this, if you want tea and coffee making facilities - we didn't - you need to pay 10 euros for a week. If you want to connect to the wifi you can only do it in the lobby and it costs 4 euros for 4 hours or more for longer. And finally you can not control the temperture of your own room as the receptionist over rides everything and presets the temperture of the whole hotel.
However we knew all of this before we went and so we weren't surprised and therefore disappointed. I can understand the comments about the staff being rude, but in my opinion they are not rude it's just the way they are and because English is not their first language they loose some of the niceties in translation. If you actually take the time to engage with them they are very friendly nice people. Two perfect examples of this are the bar manager and the omlette chef. My first impression was that they were brusque and stand offish, however once you talk to them they are really nice chaps. The people that turned out to be the exception to this rule are the receptionists, they are extremely pleasant and very helpful, answering every question I had and giving good advice on the hire car, restaurants and places to visit. They certainly made up for the fact that there is no concierge. Apart from breakfast we didn't use the restaurant so I can't comment about the food or service. The majority of the time we were there there were a couple of conferences taking place in the hotel, which resulted in a large number of people milling around the lobby and smoking outside on the steps. This didn't bother us too much but on our last night we received a really nice surprise when we got back to our room, the manager must have realised that the conferences may have ditracted from some of the guests enjoyment of the the hotel and therefore he had chosen to give everybody a free bottle of champagne and a letter of apology. We didn't complain about the conferences or request any compensation so it was a really lovely thought. Among the plus points are the rooms, the views, the location, the breakfasts and the pool with its ample sun loungers. All in all based on it's fantastic location, value for money and overall good service I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Always ask for a sea view room.

We really liked this hotel. Our flight got in extremely early and we arrived at the hotel at 8.20am. Reception staff were very friendly. Despite the fact that the hotel was full and check-out is at 11am and check in at 2pm they had our room ready by 9.15am. The rooms were large and clean. Because we booked through their website we had free wifi access - although the signal wasn't great. We were also supposed to get a free newspaper and a bar voucher every day but they never materialised. The ample bottles of water in our room were free which was a nice touch.

The pool area was clean with a large number of beds and free towels. The pool staff were nice. The pool bar lacked any atmosphere and I appreciate other comments about the staff - not the friendliest. The bar is really not being used to it's full potential. Had they had someone playing a Piano (or a saxaphone as in nearby bars) we would have sat and watched the sunset with a few drinks every evening.

Breakfast was lovely - especially the omelettes. We didn't eat at the restaurant but ordered a room service meal one night which was very poor (Congealed pasta and dry meat). There are plenty of lovely restaurants in Alghero so just head out!

The location was perfect for us. Beautiful views and a nice walk into town....you hit the first bars and restaurants in 5-10 mins.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. A very nice touch was the bottle of champagne delivered to our room on my partner's birthday. Many thanks!

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the sea view!

+ves

We got a sea view (well, at an angle to it) without requesting one.

Ditto a larger balcony and walk in closet

The staff (with the exception of the lovely breakfast omelette chef) were rude and gave bad provide service.

The room does not come with an iron (which, I understand from my 5 star-frequenting partner is a big no no).

The internet requires constant reconnection (entering code and password) and each code you purchase only works on one device...

We had a family room with a huge balcony and great view. The hotel is great but lacks the service you would expect for a five star hotel. The senior bar staff were so rude we felt intimated by them when asking for anything. Apart from breakfast, The food was also a real let down. Bar food was an absolute disaster. I did like the hotel and some of the staff were great but for the price and rating I expected a more consistent product.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and the hotel was clean and close to the town centre. On the day of checking out our flight was in the evening, so the hotel kindly offered us to use one of their courtesy room for an hour to refresh ourselves before heading to the airport - superb service!

When I got back to London and realised I left my iPhone charger there. So I rang and spoke to one of the staff and they kindly posted my charger back to me in London. Unbelievably they were so efficient.

Would highly recommend them to anyone!
