“Return to Le Bombarde”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012

We found this beach last year and had to return again. We holidayed in late September when there are few holiday markers around. The beach still has enough activity to provide some "action". Like many beaches in Sardinia the water is wonderful. I remember lying here, drifting away listening to J J Cale coming from one of the beach bars - ah the memories.

The beach is mostly south facing which I think is the best for sunbathing.

Drive north from Alghero, cross the bridge at Fertillia, and carry straight on through the traffic lights, then look for the signs to the beach on the left hand side.

Judging from the large carpark, this beach is very popular in the height of the season but in September/October it is a delight.

“Beautiful, but beware of sharp rocks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

Nice beach with beautiful water. Quite windy at times so the waves are higher here than in Alghero. There are some sharp rocks at places in the water so watch out for those.

“Nice beach!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

I would recommend to rent a bike (8 Euros) to go there. It's a wonderful ride and most of the way there are bike paths. Most of the way is flat and just a bit hilly at the end. You can also continue and bike to Lazareto Beach and further, but then it become really hilly. The beach is nice, although too many people for my taste. And the water is a bit too cold as well.

“Beautiful sea spot in North-West Sardinia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

Le Bombarde is located in an unspoiled sea side area north of Alghero: the pine tree woods, the thin sand beach, the landscape and the clean water make it an excellent retreat for swimming, snorkeling, and underwater activities among rocky sea beds full of marine life. Note that the beach is fairly tiny and may well be overcrowded in summer.

“Busy but nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

The strip of sand is narrow but it is a good beach to swim from as it's shallow, warm, and the rocks make it interesting. Lots of fish swim around you and the atmosphere although very busy is pleasant. Parking is reasonable and we didn't fret about leaving our things on the beach too much. It's quite rocky and didn't see easy access for disabled wheelchairs or pushchairs.
