My wife and I were in Sardinia for a couple of weeks and we went to Trattoria da Mirko on someone else's suggestion. I have to say I wasn't disappointed to the point that I had to go back a couple of times.
The place is close to the town centre and very easy to find - we found it to be be rather small but there's a good atmosphere, you can also see the kitchen which is a strong point in my opinion.
The food they served was simple and quite good, and considering that I am quite picky with fish considering that I grew up in Sardinia, they really surprised me.
It is worth trying the mussel and clams cooked in a tomato soup, they are delicious and they also put some Sardinian bread on the bottom of the plate, which you will love! Another good dish is the mixed grilled fish which I found to be quite nice and cooked to my liking.
The best dish I tried is however the "Spaghetti allo scoglio" which were probably one of the best I have ever had, you can't really go wrong with them.
So bottom line, if you are in Alghero you can't miss it!
