The location is simply charming, the staff however were far from it, me and my partner arrived at approximately 10pm which in most countries is not particularly late to dine, as most restaurants seemed reasonably busy up till midnight with ease, I am not one for sea food however my partner is, we didnt think this would be much of a problem as there were several salads or meat dishes I could choose from, how wrong could one be....on ordering the fillet steak i was looked at with what could only be described as utter disgust, the waiters response was that 'meat was longer available' , so in a state of shock I ordered a ceasar salad, in my ignorance thinking by 'meat' the waiter meant steak not literally no meat of any description. The waiter then left the table and came back form the kitchen to say that 'no meat is no available' no pleasantries, apologies etc just a blank expression. we had already been served wine we'd ordered , and water that we hadn't, so asked for the bill as it was clear our custom was not welcome, they did in fairness graciously let us leave without payment, however the whole experience had been quite embarrassing, to put in perspective I have dined at Claridges, the Ivy etc and understand the importance of dressing for the occasion and acting in accordance with ones surroundings so could have understood if we'd hav held our knives and forks upside down and had dared to enter with a tracksuit and logo endorsed sports top, I deduced the only explanation could have been that they wanted to rid themselves as much of their fresh fish before the night was out. very dissappointed in the whole experience especially after so many high ratings.
