Really great authentic restaurant. We enjoyed our food here so much we decided to go back again on our last night. It was by far the best value meal we had in Alghero and the food was brilliant - the best pasta I had in Sardinia. Also, the wine was such good value 8 euros for a litre!

whilst staying in the old town of Alghero we came about this restaurant by a recommendation from a local. its situated just off from the city wall and all of the fish restaurants. it only has indoor eating and it may not look much but you really get more than you pay for in quality, we ended up coming here 3 times!! the first time we had the spaghetti alla aribiatta(7euros) (chili, garlic and parsley) this was perfectly executed pasta was al dente and the sauce had a warm depth to the chili with out being over powering and subtle garlic and freshness from the parsley and my girlfriend had the lasagna (9euros)which was also great made with a great ragu with hints of celery a very fresh tasting sauce she described it as perfect and creamy!! also the house wine came in at 8euros for a liter and 4euros for a 1/2 liter! and quite tasty too. we went on a Saturday night at around 10pm and had to wait for about 25mins for a table as it was well filled with locals and tourists alike but we just took a walk along the front and went back after the other two times were during the week and we went straight in so i guess on a friday and Saturday night its pretty busy so go early or be prepared for a short wait. on our second trip we had pizza that was great as well wood oven cooked with a good tomato sauce on both, the service we recived was good every time un intrusive and friendly. well recommended for easy and tasty food.

Cruising the cobbles for a decent, unpretentious, authentic :), reasonably-priced restaurant with a mix of seafood dishes, we somehow found this place. The restaurant was full even at 21h45, and yet we were greeted by smiling faces of waitresses and manager alike, and after the briefest of waits we were escorted in. The menu was not complicated, the wine list was excellent (Sella & Mosca Canannau di Sardegna Riserva highly recommended), the staff busy yet attentive, and we enjoyed a wonderful seafood meal.
No glitz or pretence, just good food and great ambience. Perfect.
Having eaten and sussed out several more expensive restaurants in Alghero and Cagliari, and those with higher TA ratings, the only negative thing about this restaurant was the thought, on leaving, that we still had 3 more nights in Sardinia and would struggle to find a better place.

....then look no further than AVM. Situated in the old town of A and slightly back from the prime site restaurant locations on the walled terrace, this restaurant offers real good value and a tasty pizza to boot. Throw in a litre carafe of house vino for 7 Euros and you get the picture. All inside restaurant and so a bit on the hot side, service was good and the pizzas tasty and right on the money. Gets my vote and should get yours.
