“Great Location and great deals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

I got a deal for single occupancy for €65 per night. They offer free cycle hire and breakfast. The staff are incredibly helpful and nice from the housekeepers to reception. The rooms are clean spacious and airy. The beds are comfortable and they have a black out blind at the window.

They are minutes walk from the Roman Column and the sea and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It's only a 30 minute (max) stroll from the train station (pulling a large suitcase)

I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel right in the middle of the small coastal town. Its well positioned right in the middle of the old town, a few minutes walk from both the center square and the harbor and avoids the taxis in from locations nearer the airport (pricey). Aircon is very good, and a comprehensive breakfast & wifi are nice finishing touches. At the Harbor you can catch the ferry across to the other side for 1 Euro, takes 2 minutes and avoids a 20 Euro cab ride.

I have stayed at several other hotels in Brindisi over the course of one year and came to the Orientale twice where my Organization is granted a covenient corporate rate. It is a simple hotel, centrally located, neat and clean. Rooms are small but functional although in the winter they can get pretty nippy. The rooms are not sound proof nor is the corridor that separates the rooms wide enough so you are likely to be awoken by guests walking in the corridor or slamming their door and everyone must be up by the time the cleaning ladies start their rounds and communicate to each other screaming over the noise of the vacum cleaner. Not pleasant, I complained (useless), bought earplugs and survived. I chose this hotel because it was the only one that claimed to own a gymnasium. In reality it is a small windowless storage room with 3 pieces of equipment but as nobody else was using it during my stay, it served the purpose. The quality of the service was quite inconsistent. The evening front desk staff were certainly nicer and more helpful than the day staff to whom you should not even think of asking for help with your luggage to/from your car or to/from the room or anything that would require them to get up from behind the desk. Breakfast included all the essentials although during my stays a single waitress was manning the entire room.

I came to Brindisi on business (UN) for a week and stayed at the Orientale. The single room was small (as was the shower) but very clean and neat. I can't say I needed much more. The room rate that I received was fair for the services (I think my rate was discounted). Breakfast is pretty good (not spectacular but certainly not meager). The location is very convenient (in the pedestrian zone in the town center, and about a 10-minute walk from the water taxi point). Apparently there are free bicycles for guests, but I did not make use of this service. The front desk staff are very friendly and accommodating, and I would stay here again if I go back.

I came here on business and stayed three nights. The rooms are perfect in size and the bathroom is spacious. they have a nice buffet breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30. But if you have an early flight, they also have a self service bar so you don't leave on an empty stomach. Wifi is strong in your room, but not in the breakfast area. Which is hard if you are trying to work while eating breakfast. Owners should fix that. The staff is very friendly, especially Alex at the front desk, who helped us desperately locate our laptop that we thought we left at the airport, but in fact was on the bus! Yes, the busdriver was the same one that rode with us into town and kept it safe for us!

Note that from the airport to the train station in the center of Brindisi taxis charge 25 Euros plus baggage! It only costs 1.8 Euros to ride the Pullman (bus). It must say on it "aeroporto a centro " ( airport to center of town) You are dropped off at the train station and you can just walk to this hotel, about 5 min walk.

Stayed here for one night in April 2012 on business. The hotel excllently located in the middle of the pedestrian zone half way between the train station and the port. One can take the airport bus for 95 cents to the train station; and from there it's about a 5 minute walk. Taxis are a rip off from the airport.
The hotel is one of the better hotels in Brindisi and this is reflected in its rates.
The hotel is very clean, free wi-fi in the rooms. The rooms are basic but well appointed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The hotel's breakfast buffet was surprisingly good for Italy. Egss and bacon, fresh cakes and croissants, lots of different cereal, meats and cheeses, and fruit salad.

Definitely one of the better choices in Brindisi.
