Reviewed June 27, 2012

I came here on business and stayed three nights. The rooms are perfect in size and the bathroom is spacious. they have a nice buffet breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30. But if you have an early flight, they also have a self service bar so you don't leave on an empty stomach. Wifi is strong in your room, but not in the breakfast area. Which is hard if you are trying to work while eating breakfast. Owners should fix that. The staff is very friendly, especially Alex at the front desk, who helped us desperately locate our laptop that we thought we left at the airport, but in fact was on the bus! Yes, the busdriver was the same one that rode with us into town and kept it safe for us!

Note that from the airport to the train station in the center of Brindisi taxis charge 25 Euros plus baggage! It only costs 1.8 Euros to ride the Pullman (bus). It must say on it "aeroporto a centro " ( airport to center of town) You are dropped off at the train station and you can just walk to this hotel, about 5 min walk.

Stayed here for one night in April 2012 on business. The hotel excllently located in the middle of the pedestrian zone half way between the train station and the port. One can take the airport bus for 95 cents to the train station; and from there it's about a 5 minute walk. Taxis are a rip off from the airport.
The hotel is one of the better hotels in Brindisi and this is reflected in its rates.
The hotel is very clean, free wi-fi in the rooms. The rooms are basic but well appointed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The hotel's breakfast buffet was surprisingly good for Italy. Egss and bacon, fresh cakes and croissants, lots of different cereal, meats and cheeses, and fruit salad.

Definitely one of the better choices in Brindisi.

Brindisi was on schedule lately. The city is not the touristic hot spot, but interesting enough for me and therefore offer mainly biz oriented and not that cheap accomodations.
The same here with the Hotel Orientale, 80.00 Euro´s B&B. Very good located in the main pedestrian zone between the train station and the harbour. I recommend not to do a detour and follow the roadsigns to the hotel like me on arrival by bus at the train station after the flight on Alitalia from Roma late saturday afternoon while the night falls quickly. The one way road system leads you around the old town and it´s much easier to walk straight down to the harbour where you pass the hotel. Anyway a nice welcome at the desk from a male agent.
As requested a room on the top floor was preprared for me, no time to wait here. The room large enough for me, the bathroom a bit from the small side but fitted with a baththub, warm welcomed. Everything was clean, a little bit noisy when other guests walk along but sure ok for me and a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was buffet style and included, everything there what I need in the morning and also Sundays available from 07.00 am. Well, that´s something for me with simply no one else than the staff and me in the breakfast room during this time of the day.
Also no time to wait during check out. All together a recommendable place to stay in Brindisi.

I stayed for one night at the Hotel Orientale in Brindisi, prior to flying out the following morning. First of all, I arrived and was faced with a flight of steps and could not manage my suitcase alone. A passerby came to my assistance as there was no sign of staff; I couldn't see a bell to ring. However, the helpful and friendly man on reception was totally unaware that I had had this struggle. The reception area is a shrine to marble of various hues and was bright and clean, though dated. The first impression of my room was: dark and musty. However, it was large and immaculately clean with efficient air conditioning. Again, the decor was extremely dated and the floor was a dark brown wooden laminate, while the doors and cupboards were very old fashioned.
Then came the contrast: the breakfast was magnificent! I was faced with a gigantic buffet with everything imaginable available. It's been a while since I have stayed anywhere with such a terrific breakfast buffet and the busy dining room was a testament to its popularity.
I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

The best of this hotel was the location:central, near to the harbour, 10 minutes from the train station. The stairs at the entrance don't help when you have heavy luggagge to carry. The service is not very good (staffe is not very helpful). Buffet breakfast is very good, as there are lots of choices. Rooms are ok, very clean.
Children are not welcome, so don't choose this hotel if you are traveling with little ones.

I only had an overnight stay and did not have breakfast but it was fine for what it was. The room was clean and comfortable, no view tho and the shower was very oddly placed and pretty weak. But the location is great, easy to walk around this small town and lots of nice places to eat around the hotel. Just a word of warning, taxis will rip you off, the normal price to this hotel from the airport is 15 Euros, according to the locals, but many drivers will charge you around 30. Make sure you agree to the price upfront. I recommend you try the ice creme place next to the hotel, very nice service and good prices.
