Good breakfast, wifi worked well, room hot not air-conditioned (did say so when booked) no pillows!, right in the middle of town, parking not easy, quick check in, we got a good price (about 48 euros) through lastminute.com

Room Tip: ask for pillows!

We arrived at Hotel Victor fresh from the ferry coming from Greece.
We walked all the way to the hotel with heavy bags and so we were quite surprised to enter the warm reception...no aircon?
Check-in wasn't suppose to be until after lunch but we were so lucky and got to check in instantly.
We were on the 5th floor, thankgod there was an elevator! When we opened our door we were hugely disappointed at the age of the room.
The photographs advertised did not match our room.
It was a small room of two single beds, with a tv, one chair and a fridge ( which lacked in keeping anything cold).
Being peak summer we really hoped for airconditioning and expected the room to be but were sadly disappointed to learn that all we had for air flow was a pedestal fan.
The bathroom was dated but very clean, but the first few showers did not supply any warm water. This was fixed immediately after reporting.

On our arrival checking in, we were not informed of any amenities within the hotel. eg Bar, Inclusive breakfast, computer. Luckily we had done our own research and knew breakfast was included which to my surprise was actually great, the best part of our stay!

Breakfast was a buffet of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, breads, cereals, spreads and jams, fresh coffee/tea and juices as well as whole fruit.
Although our room was a disappointment I must say the beds were very comfortable!
Staff - to begin the staff weren't overally friendly or warm, but soon after we made an effort to greet them and practice our poor Italian on them they definitely warmed up to us and became very pleasant and helpful.

Overall it was a nice stay, and probably would return again, but rooms definitely need airconditioning whilst in Summer! Hopefully the hotel will continue to update all the rooms in future!

The photos on the booking site of this hotel looked quite nice and since it was a four star we expected it to be a good stay. When we arrived we were given a room which was furnished definitely more than 30 years ago and although it was relatively clean it felt shabby. the floor we were on had a lot of damaged elements, a carpet was covering the floor in the corridor in one section probably covering up damage, and there was even a hole in one of the walls... i think the hotel is indeed undergoing a refurbishment but we did get a room in the floors that have not been refurbished yet. if you get these kind of rooms you're in for a shabby looking stay... we were only there for one night so it did not really matter but considering we were booked in a four star we of course expected better.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is centrally placed, even if a bit confusing to return to after a city saunter (that might be my wonderful sense of direction that enables me to get lost every 100 yards) but it is good for shopping and sauntering. W had a back street view: great to see the informal side of Bari

This hotel was a lovely surprise on a rather hasty trip to Italy, especially as opposed a less than basic hotel we had in Rome.
The hotel is very well located: just some 5 minutes from Bari Centrale railway station, a stone-throw from the main shopping streets and the local market and a lovely 15 minutes stroll to the old town of Bari with its many tavernas.
The room was very clean and freshly refurbished. It was really a relaxing pleasure to come to the hotel in the end of a day out.
The buffet breakfast was also not bad, but nothing excessive.
The reception staff might seem not the most friendly, but in fact proves to be very helpful.
I was surprised to read negative reviews about this place. Perhaps the rooms on the lower floors have not been refurbished yet. Thus, booking a room make sure you ask for one higher up. We stayed on the 8th floor and all was very fine.

very central hotel ,very handy to visit the old town and close to the station
they also have a parking possibilty nearby ,trhey take care of the car for 10 euros/night
the lady at the reception has been very helpful , the buffet breakfast was nice ; unfortunately , the A/C didn't work ( we knew at the moment we reserved ), we had a fan who didn(t work for the first night; the roomand the bathroom are so tiny and there is no bidet in the bathroom ; the room needs definitely to be refurbished end redecorated; apparently they had some renovated rooms , but we didn't get one of them , i guess because we paid a much lower price than the "official" one written on the room door

We (a group of 7 persons) stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, and all I can say is that this is one of the worst city hotels I have stayed. It´s located in a quiet street in a residential neighborhood, near the Aldo Moro University and main shoping street and also about 5 minutes walk from the train station and historical city centre. The building itself, a 7 floor one, is a wreck, with ongoing works in the backside and in the front with a big wood hall next to the main entrance covered with graffiti. Inside the lobby is a prelude of what is to come in the bedrooms… The reception staff is very rude, unhelpful and quite unpleasant. We stayed in the standard rooms, and it was a “unique” experience, like stepping in a time machine directly to the 80´s (I mean in the worst way). Every thing was worn out, dated and very ugly. From the corny paper walls, pos-war cabinets and a bathroom that was unbelievable ugly (with yellow plastic wall and false wood ceiling). In at least 3 of our rooms, there was no hot water so we call the reception and the response was to leave the shower running until it appears (it took more than 15 minutes…), Bath towels very thin, as tablecloths. Tv didn’t work because the electric faucet was broken. No sleeping quality as the bed was rock solid.
Breakfast was more pleasant, with a several types of bread, cold sausages \ pepperoni, good pastries and also good service.
Overall this city hotel as only a nice location to reach the shopping area \ historical centre, everything else is decrepit…. At most 2 star hotel \ youth hostel.
