We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the station. It had a lovely garden and very efficient transfer from the airport. We enjoyed our dinner - a good start to our holiday. Would stay there again.

We stayed for a week in this hotel, and loved the amazing park it has, the delicious breakfast, the value for the price, kind staff. The main building is in need of renovation though, if they want to keep calling themselves 4 stars.

This hotel was a wonderfully surprise, having driven to it through all the industrialised areas of Bari we found what can only be described as an oasis. The grounds around the hotel provide ample free parking for guests, a lovely outdoor swimming pool surrounded by rocks on 3 sides with an attendant who was also on duty to ensure safety for guests. Beautiful trees are scattered throughout and it would make a dream wedding setting. The rooms were spacious and clean and we ate in the restaurant, the meal was first class. With free wi-fi you can either use your own computer or one of the two ultra high grade machines by the restaurant area. I had trouble logging in to the wi-fi but the receptionist helped get it on line with further assistance and a telephone call to the hotels IT guy. I can't rate this little gem too highly. The downside to all this is we had only got a day to enjoy it all.

Room Tip: The room we had was great. I think any room in this hotel would be lovely.

Unlike most hotels around the world, Villa Romanazzi offers room reservations that cannot be cancelled -- even two months in advance!!

I was making hotel reservations on Booking.com and mistakenly booked two rooms at Villa Romanazzi on Aug. 3rd for a stay on Oct. 1st. (I realized that our train was leaving just after midnight, so we wouldn't be needing a room after all.)

I realized the error immediately and contacted Customer Support at Booking.com. They tried to help by contacting the hotel via email (it being after normal business hours in Italy by that time). Even though they hadn't even charged my card at that point, they refused to cancel the reservation. I was out $208 for a simple mistake.

I know of no other business in my experience that would make such an anti-customer decision. Purchases in the U.S. have a 72-hour recision period, allowing them to be cancelled by the customer with no penalty.

Yes, the policy is clearly stated, but making no allowance for mistakes is just plain wrong.

Like a lot of people, we only went to Bari to get the boat to Dubrovnik. It's a shame as the city looked really interesting and I would like to go back for another visit.
Our wedding photographer had told us that Bari was really dangerous and that we should turn our wedding rings around as if stones are spotted they would be robbed! I didn't really believe it but it made me a bit paranoid. I'm from Manchester, UK and there aren't many places that feel as
'unnecessarily' violent and dangerous as Manchester. Seriously, look it up on Wikitravel. Who would go there?
Anyway, the hotel is close to where the bus from Naples drops you off. 5-10 minutes walk. We received a very warm welcome. The room was what you would really want from a hotel you are spending one night in, between two long days of travel - cheap, modern, clean and comfortable.
Advice is to call for a taxi from the hotel and NOT to go out to flag one. The receptionist said flagging one down was easy but we spent 40 miserable minutes on a main street not even seeing one, let alone getting one. We had to traipse back to the hotel and then had one in a few minutes.
The breakfast really is special and well worth the extra money. All the foods on offer were really good and we stuffed ourselves rotten - cakes drenched in yoghurt, fresh tomatoes on a bed of sundried ones: disgusting!
One negative: Change the music! A glut of soft rock ballads from the 1980s and 90's were piped out onto the food court, making me feel miserable. Why do chain hotels rely on such awful redundant music? No wonder they are the scenes of so many suicides. Change the music and the breakfast buffet will be the best I have ever had. If you want something chilled, the Xx have just released a brilliant new record. Play that and you're onto a winner...

Spent four nights at this hotel and really enjoyed it! It's one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in acctually!

The receptions staff - friendly, welcoming and very efficient. The check in and check out went really fast. They speak good English as well.

Rooms - Our room (a double) was really big! Clean and modern. Had a table, fridge, desk and several chairs which we really liked (good to hang clothes on). When we arrived in our room, the hotel had left a small welcome bag with water, some pretzels and fruit. Very appreciated. The bathroom is spacious with a large shower. Everything is clean and tidy.

The gym - the best hotel gym I've been to, by far. Fairly large, well equipped an clean. Great. Also liked the fact that the had an 18 year age limit.Since it's a hotel with many families as guests it could easily have been turned into a play ground other wise. Happens quite often. The only thing I missed was some towels.

The breakfast - A reason itself to visit this place. The breakfast buffe is soo good. One whole table with only pastries, biscuits, buns etc. One table with bread, different cheese (including mozzarella and ricotta), some hot food, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt...etc etc. The staff is great and quick to fill up and keep tidy. Very friendly too.

The hotel garden and pool are really nice. You don't expect such area in the middle of Bari.

The only downside might be the location. In one way, it's good, because it's convienetly located close to the train station. Takes about ten minutes to go. To the old city it's about 30 minutes walk. It was perfectly fine to walk during the day, but I would not have wanted to walk in those streets in the evening or night.

Overall a great hotel! I warmly recommend it!

The hotel is located inside of a villa, so the common areas are nice and comfortable, excellent parking, swimming pool good and gardens. The rooms are very big and clean, but old fashioned, need a renovation on furniture, or at least some maintenance, and on curtains and beds with no doubt. Breakfast is good. Free wifi.
