“Super, Fantastic, Friendly”

We four Canadians, stayed at the Villa Pasini for five nights. We were very pleased and happy with our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean , breakfast in the morning was over the top special. Ton-Ton was very happy to answer our questions and give us advise on places to see and go. Cynthia could not have been more helpful. It was a real treat to stay at the Villa and when we return in the next few years we will definitely be staying at the Villa.

I had a good feeling about Villa Pasini when I first saw their website—I felt that this is some place special, and it really was! Beautiful grounds, buildings, countryside is lovely. We could only stay 1 night, but look forward to a return visit.

This is a very special place! There’s the historic villa, with the adjoining buildings, the greenhouse area, and even a de-consecrated church on the property. We were in a room/apartment just upstairs (could park right up to the building). There were 2 rooms, plenty of space, free internet access, a TV (but w/ no English channels), and a little kitchen. The room is nicely done, simple furniture, but just fine; clean, comfortable, and nice. The grounds are just stunning. There are gardens, sculptures, an abandoned greenhouse, and walking paths around the hills and vineyards. Views are quite spectacular.

GPS and google maps got us there. The maps on the website were rather confusing and I’m not sure if we could have found it easily without GPS/Google maps.

The owner, Cynthia, was a great hostess, and I wish we’d had time to chat for a longer time. She was very interesting, and gave us some direction when we needed a car repair the next morning before leaving town.

Just outside Vicenza city, in Arcugnano, Villa Pasini is an 18th-century country mansion, built by an architect very much influenced by Palladio's masterpieces you'll find throughout the province.

The suites are astonishingly large (1000 sq ft) for Italian standards, and spotlessly clean. A kitchenette comes with the living room, as well as a sofa that rolls out into a queen-size bed (perfect for when you have more people in your family than will fit in a double room). Bedroom has a balcony. Big granite bathrooms, plenty of walking room to the tub and toilet.

The gardens are beautifully well-kept. Have you seen the size of this place? I don't know how they do it. He is a jet-setting architect (heading for Istanbul the 2nd day we had breakfast with him), and she is a full time innkeeper who still manages to find time for both grad students & her kids. From here, you've got great views of rolling green hills in all directions. On the days we were there, it was clear enough to see past Vicenza city.

The whole family speaks flawless Italian and English. Given that the only other guests were an Aussie backpacking couple, it made morning conversations livelier than at other points during our trip across nothern Italy.

I'll end by saying that we should have stayed longer than the 2 nights we booked. It's the perfect location for day trips to Lake Garda (Sirmione), Verona, Vicenza, Padua, and the Riviera Brenta. Heck, you could even be like the Aussies and commute into Venice by train and back 4 hours each day (Cynthia was gracious enough to pick & drop them off at Vicenza train station, and offer to do the same with us).
