This was our first visit to Vicenza and we were impressed by both the city and this accommodation. We stayed for 6 days over New Year in one of the bedrooms in the "downstairs apartment" and we were completely happy with the room and the apartment overall. The entire apartment is spotlessly clean and the hosts, Bob and Jenny, are welcoming and gracious.
As other reviewers have commented, this is really a self-contained apartment where you share a kitchen and dining/sitting room with any guests who are occupying the other bedroom in this apartment (Bob and Jenny also have another apartment next door.) The breakfast provisions of coffee/tea, juice, bread for toast, jams, yoghurts and muesli were entirely adequate for us before we set out each day to explore the city and some of its villas. While it was crisp and sometimes cold in the January air, the apartment was always toasty and bright. The local supermarket, a few minutes' walk, has excellent cheeses, cold meats and wines (and much else if you need it). And the town centre is a 15-minute walk along a pleasant road.
Apart from breakfast and wine & cheese in the afternoon, we didn't really eat in as part of our visit was to try the fabulous restaurants in Vicenza. We were not disappointed. Al Pestello, Angolo Palladio, Chris & Co, and Osteria al Cursore were quite superb, though different in terms of what they were offering. Much better food than Venice and more reasonably priced.
Vicenza itself is a rather "big" gem in terms of its Palladian architecture, both in its public buildings and its surrounding villas. So much to see...and not quite enough time.
We will be returning to Vicenza and to Bob & Jenny's B&B which we would highly recommend.

Though we only stayed for 2 nights in November, Bob & Jenny's was definitely our favorite B&B so far. Bob picked us up from the train- a GREAT relief when you've toted heavy suitcases all over. He settled us in & gave us a map.

We stayed in a room with a private bath, that shares the communal kitchen which is stocked with bread, jam, yogurt, juice & coffee. Cookies and fruit on the table too.

The bed was the most comfortable we've stayed in, with a super cozy duvet and thick pillows. Having keys to this little "apartment" was fabulous. And Bob & Jenny are nextdoor - you can ring their bell any time and they are accomodating. Little things like helping us find train times & allowing me to use his phone to call local family show how caring this B&B is.

Overall, a fantastic experiece & superb value for your money. I hope to return here and explore Veneto some day soon!

There were five of us, so Uncle stayed in the B and B while the rest of the family stayed in the apartment 200 yards along the cycle path.
We had a little problem finding the place, but Bob made us instantly welcome. The apartment had 2 bedrooms, a lounge with foldaway bed, a large kitchen and adequate bathroom. There was an outdoor area, which we didn't use as it was too cold! The accomodation was always warm enough though. There was a great array of food and drink included in the price, which served us not only for breakfast but the odd snacks as well. All the windows had shutters, which meant we all slept well. The flat was clean. Bob and Jennys is also well situated. The nearby sights of Palladio's Rotonda and Villa Valmarana are both within walking distance as is the centre of town, an easy 15 minute walk. There is an excellent small supermarket and a couple of cheap restaurants just along the road, as well as a newly opened Interspar.
All in all an excellent reasonable priced option in Vicenza, slightly away from the town centre with a helpful host and more than adequate breakfast.

We thought we would stay in Vicenza and use it as a base to see Northern Italy, we decided against renting a car this time around, and this place was perfect for us. The garden apartment is situated on a really large loop of bike path, so you can walk for hours and see so much. Downtown Vicenza is a 10 min walk and it has an amazing array of Renaissance architecture. There was an antique market on Sunday, a flea market on another day, and all kinds of interesting stores. A 15 min walk behind the apartment leads to a gorgeous 15th century cathedral called Monte Berico. We never left Vicenza because there was so much to see there. Bob and Jenny were such great hosts, they picked us up and dropped us off at the station, and stocked the kitchen with milk, yogurt, muesli, coffee, bread, cookies, jams, and peaches. Bob oriented us to the local stores and restaurants (a 5 min walk from the apartment) so we settled into a really nice rhythm of sight seeing and eating well. Had we decided to explore outside of Vicenza, the train system is very extensive with trains running frequently to all major towns. Buses are also plentiful. The walk to the train/bus station is 10 minutes and easy to navigate. Bob and Jenny's open door policy made us feel welcome immediately and was helpful when we had specific questions. Our stay in Vicenza was everything that we wanted, and more.

This was our second stay at Bob and Jenny's B&B in Vicenza and although our stay was much shorter this time around we were still given the first class treatment that we received on our last visit. Bob picked us up at the station, drove us to the B&B and helped us upstairs with our luggage. This B&B has all the things we need and the location is perfect for getting to some of the sites. We would recommend the B&B to travelers that want the ability to make some of their own meals as the B&B has the facilities to do so. It is more of a self contained unit than a B&B as it has washing facilities as well. Thanks Bob & Jenny it was great to catch up again.

The garden apt was lovely and in a neat location-just off the bike trail. Parking was convenient. The apt, sleeps a family of 4-5 comfortably, and the bathroom was large and well-equipped. The kitchen was well-stocked for do-it-yourself cooking. Breakfast items provided were basic but easily supplemented at the nearby grocery.

We stayed during a very hot and humid week, and unfortunately the apt does not have a/c. While it does cool off at night, the security shutters block the cooler outside air, and the fans do not provide enough cooling. I would keep this in mind if booking during the hot summer months, or if you are heat-sensitive.

The location is great because both old town and the train station are about a15 minute walk away. It's quiet at night for a good night's sleep.

I am glad to have checked in with Bob and Jenny's B&B during my visit in Vicenza. Bob picked me up from the station and also gave me an overview about Vicenza (including where to get good pizza, interesting buildings, etc.).
The accommodation was very clean and they really put effort into making a guest feel comfortable there. Bob was kind enough to even take a friend of mine back to the station with me.
I really enjoyed the stay and recommend Bob and Jenny's to everybody seeking for a place to stay with feel-good-atmosphere and very friendly hosts!
