“As a child, this is how I pictured Italy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

Beautiful! The piazza has such incredible buildings with impressive architecture and detail. The basilica and a statue of Andrea Palladio (the famous architect of Vicenza) are among the interesting things to see here. You can take a long tme just looking at the piazza and enjoying its beauty. It is not very touristic, the overwhelming majority in the piazza will be local Italians relaxing, having a drink, or having a meal. There are LOTS of bars and gelatorea's to sit and relax at on a hot day. Angolo Palladio is a terrific Italian restaurant that isnt on trip advisor (its next to the statue of Palladio) and locals will tell you its the best place in Vicenza. They have been open for about two years now and serve only local wines and a fantastic Italian white beer, not the blonde!...order the white beer! If you're going there during the cold weather seasons, you will enjoy the piazza largely to yourself.

“Vicenza”

It's a lovely walk with beautiful architechture and scenery; Thursday morning is Market Day and the 2nd Sunday of the month is antique market. Lots of Bars to have coffee or wine. Beautiful parks to sit and people watch. Close to train - 1 hour from Venice and 45 minutes from Verona.

“Stunning!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2011

Vicenza's heart is charming and beautiful; reminded us of a small Bologna. A joy to sit at one of the bars or cafés and soak up the beautiful buildings and the locals going about their business.
