I've eaten at this large primarily seafood restaurant a couple of time for lunch. They have a fixed menu for approximately 11 euros. The rooms are quite large and decorated with tired sea decorations from the 60's.
Since I am not Italian, the owner gave me the regular menu without even asking if I would like the fixed menu. This is done occasionally at other restaurants as well, but I have never seen it done to an Italian customer. For them, they will always ask first. I think this is a dishonest way of getting non-Italian speakers to pay more for lunch.
Since I do speak some Italian, I asked for the fixed menu selections. This was met with a frown and a roll of the eyes before handing over the menu. Having said all of this, the food is not that good either. They primarily offer big portions at lunch for workers. The pasta portions are swimming in oil / butter. Is that really necessary especially with seafood? My kids ate pizza which was bad and they even charged them a coperto at lunch!
I did not find the quality of food or service to be good or friendly. Maybe its better in the evening? I don't know but am also not willing to give it a try. There are plenty of other good options in Vicenza. Try something else!
