“A little Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

Set right back in a tiny side street you coul easily miss this. Plain whitewashed walls and a tiny glass window artistically decorated with twinkling blue lights illuminate a simple menu of home cooked Italian dishes and you have to seek the entrance below an Osteria sign around the corner.
Once in throught the door you are greeted by a bustling bar full of locals and directed to a little side room set up with about 8 wooden scrubbed tables and an eclectic mix of chairs and benches. The smiling host in a long white apron comes to take your order and the food is rustic and delicious. A delightful venue, good food, great wine and extremely reasonable prices made this one of the most enjoyable evenings we had in this wonderful city.

“Baccala alla Vicentina in the Veneto should be perfect....but it was not”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2012

I love Baccala, and it is quite easy to make. So is Polenta. I expected something really special. This is the Vento after all. This restaurant is also listed in the 2012 Osterie d'Italia, slow food guide. The Baccala had little bones in every bite. the Polenta was tasteless, which improved only slightly with salt.

Also, arrived at 1:30 on Sunday. By 2:30 the restaurant was empty and the staff started talking loud, walking around the dining room, setting tables for the evening in a very noisy way, very disruptive. And, the waitress took my wine carafe away even though it still had wine it in and did not ask if I was done. Would try another restaurant next time in Verona.

“Lovely bar/restaurant but average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2011

We stumbled upon this place and although the food was very basic and not great quality it was reasonably priced and the building was very peaceful. The wine list was amazing and I think it is more a venue for a group of people wanting to hear good wine, the food being a secondary consideration.

“depends what you're looking for!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2011

a group of friends for a loud night where quality and food are not the main issue - great venue.

a couple trying the best of verona - not the place to go.

big room, wooden benches, viking style place.
friendly service and food quite ok.
but again...depends why you're going!
