“A dream come true”

I keep it short, as I'm in an internet point in Verona, about to take a train to Florence. Loved everything about it, it's been a long time I found an energy like this on a camping site. Very relaxed, very friendly personal who were speaking most languages necessary. I loved the music we heard on the terrace, it created great atmosphere! Toilets maybe not too comfortable and the pitches are tiny, but we could deal with it. Planning to go back in September as our Europe trip will end than and it would be nice to close it up here.

We stayed here, a party of two, for three nights, in one of the 'cabins'. It was actaully not a cabin, but instead a caravan, but this suited us better. The caravan was clean and slept four. There were four caravans available for rental on a nightly basis on the site.

The site itself is small but ample. It provides for tents and touring motor homes. There is little parking available on site, but you can park outside the site on the road; which many people chose to do.

The tent pitches were mostly small and catered for two-man tents, but there were a few others available for larger tents.

The sanitary facilities were clean, although there is only 'standing-up' toilets available, except for one western toilet in the female toilets outside reception. The staff at reception were quite busy and sometimes a bit abrupt and could be seen as rude, but once you're set up there was little need to communicate with them.

There was free unlimited Wifi available in the terrace/ bar area. There were two terraced areas, one of which gave you stunning views over Verona and was large, with sun-loungers and chairs provided and the other adjacent to the bar area. The shop and reception were always open and there was a computer available for visitors to use. There was also a breakfast option available from reception for €3, which included a hot drink/ fresh juice/ water and a croissant.

The staff at reception provided us with a map and directions to Verona and it was within reasonable walking distance. The walk down is stunning and provides you with great views, but the walk back up the many steps is quite exhausting! The city itself is fantastic and I would recommend allowing yourself 2-3 here. We caught a train to Venice from the main station in Verona, which was easy and I would recommend over driving.

Overall, the location is great and this is a good campsite which I would recommend staying at for a few days in order to explore Verona.

I loved everything about this camping. We had to find a place to park the car but then set the tent on a shadowded place in the camping place.
The best view over Verona with a very nice staff.
It's really famous so, it's pretty busy during summer time but I cannot recomment it more to everyone else!!!
Ok, it's not a 5* camping so you have to accept some nuisance and unperfect things but I personnally did not care, it was a very good value for money so!!!

I want to state clearly from the very first moment that I had never been in a camping before this one in Castel San Pietro (Verona), and therefore my opinions should be taken with caution. Moreover, we stayed there only for night, and it might be one of the reasons behind the fact that everything was so easy even if we were not really well-organized.
Having made this preliminary remarks, I have to say that I didn’t expect that everything went on as well as it was! My enthusiasm has played a big role in living the camping in the right way, but the wonderful location, the comfort of the camping, and the very good price have been other important determinants of this very positive experience.
Since the camping is located in an ex botanic garden, it is totally into the nature, with a lot of trees that allow you to stay into the tend even after the sunrise. Then, the following services are provided: some small cookers, a wonderful terrace with tables and chairs for eating, several washtubs for dishes and crockery, a little grocery shop (not really well-stocked, but we were there at the beginning of May, when it was open from one week only), another area with tables and chairs into the garden, and another terrace with some couches and a playing area for children. At the beginning of May the owners were restoring toilettes and showers, therefore I cannot say anything about them. But I hope that some more information will be provided in the following reviews.
The only thing you have to pay attention to is the pitch for your tend: since each tend site is quite small, you have to be well-aware about the exact size of your tend in order to choose the right pitch for the tend, otherwise the movements might be pretty uncomfortable, as it happened to us!
In conclusion, it was a so great experience as my first camping to convince myself that camping is a valid alternative to standard holidays!

We only intended to stay 1 night before moving on. We ended up staying 5 nights in all. When we arrived it was late and we were tired, we weren't in the best mood and found the campsite busy and everybody squeezed in close to eachother. After one evening there our mood lifted massively. The little onsite shop sold enough to make a lovely dinner for ourselves and a lovely bottle of wine to go with it. We ate dinner looking over the night lights of the beautiful city of Verona. The views here are fantastic day or night. The pitches are close but most are separated by olive trees so you do actually have a good amount of privacy which was what had worried me that first night we arrived. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are really good, hot water despite the amount of other campers. It took about 10-15mins to walk down the hill into town. There is also a fast train to Venice for a day trip if you wanted to save on fuel and expensive Venice campsites, this cost us something like 12euro return each! We are so glad we found this little campsite, one of the most memorable on our 7 week trip!

Room Tip: Pitches the furthest from the entrance are well worth the hike with all your gear, the views over th...

We stayed at the campsite for 7 days, renting a 'cabin' (Trailer-like accommodation) for 20 euros between the 3 of us!

The campsite is incredibly friendly, lovely bathrooms near the reception area and really friendly, laid back staff.

There isn't electricity provided in the cabin (only a light-bulb) however it is very easy to charge phones/cameras in the picnic area where there are a few plug sockets dotted about.

There is a 200 step trek up to the campsite which can be tiring after a long day, however you're awarded with beautiful views of Verona.

The campsite has everything you need and and a small shop on site.

Really great value place, suitable for all types of travellers :)

This campsite was the best one we were to during our trip through Northern Italy. The place has its own atmosphere, the staff is very friendly. There is a separate pitch for each tent, romantically separated by olive trees. The best thing was the stunning view of the city you can enjoy right from the tent. I recommend the place if you are not too picky as showers and toilets are quite poor. But still the place is definitely worth trying :)
