I love places where you can get up high and grab a 360 view of a city and the Torre dei Lamberti in Verona is no exception.
The entrance is easily found just off Piazza Erbe and entry is 6 euros. You have a choice of lift or stairs to the first viewing platform and the views from here are excellent. If you have a head for heights you can choose to go up even higher via sturdy spiral staircases to the highest viewing point.
Take your time to pick out the features of the city and follow the river wind its way around you.
When you come down there is plenty to see nearby - the Piazza, Juliet's House and the Scaliger tombs, for example. There are also some much-praised places to eat in the surrounding streets.
