We have just returned from a wonderful week in Verona. We arrived at 7.30pm on Sunday evening and felt immediately welcome as Federica was there to greet us. She spent a generous amount of time talking us through our plans for the next week, showing us maps and offering to look up times of trains and book tickets. Federica could not have been more helpful and we felt that she was entirely at our disposal for help and assistance throughout our stay. There was an opportunity to see her every day and she was also available via phone or email.
Everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and storage was plentiful in our one bedroom apartment. Towels were changed midweek. The kitchen area was well stocked and useful for breakfast although we didn’t have cause to cook as the excellent position meant that it was an easy walk to local restaurants. The fast wifi internet connection was extremely useful and helped us to keep in touch with family during our stay.
Federica booked a taxi for our return to the airport at the end of our visit and even printed our boarding cards after we had checked in online. We cannot recommend L’Ospite highly enough and will certainly stay there again if we return to see the opera or decide to use it as a base for the surrounding area.
Federica, thank you very much from Elaine and Steve

Spent 4 days in Verona in July with 3 other Ladies. From the moment we arrived in Frederica di Rossi's L'ospite apartment she made us very welcome to to the lovely Verona and was very generous with her time on giving us all the information on Verona sights, travel etc.
The apartment was spotless and location was perfect for strolling into the city.We spent a day in Lake Garda a short journey by Train and also to Padua.
Would highly recommend staying here to visitors to Verona.
I am looking forward to going back again

My husband and I recently stayed at Federica de Rossi’s L’Ospite apartments in Verona for 3 weeks in April 2012.
We mostly stay in longer stay type apartments than hotels and in our experience the L’Ospite apartments are excellent value for money. The apartments are spacious and clean and have all you need for a longer stay. It is so good to arrive at a place and not have to clean everything before you are willing to use it or buy small kitchen items.
There is a bus stop to the main train station, restaurants, cafes, green-grocer, supermarkets, bakeries and a laudromat practically on your doorstep.
The apartments are very well located. You can walk to the heart of Verona ether through the old town or the river in just a few minutes.
And then of course there is the owner, Federica, who will make you feel welcome as only an owner who enjoys what they do and enjoys seeing people happy in the city they live in can. She will call in on you to make sure you are ok and it is so much better than getting the key from someone from a management company on your first day and not seeing anyone again until you leave.
Thanks Federica!

We have since moved on to Florence but as beautiful as this city is, we think our heart is still in Verona. Verona is a magical city and well worth staying longer to really get to know the city and to use as a base to explore Italy between Milan and Venice as we did.

My wife and I stayed at L’Ospite in Verona for 4 weeks in April 2012. Having stayed at one place in one city for so long there is a lot to stay about the apartment and the city itself so we will try.

Firstly, the owner of L’Ospite, Federica de Rossi is someone who will make you feel welcome and give you the attention that makes you feel glad you chose to stay at a place run by the owner rather than a hotel. She knows Verona and loves Verona and wants you to love it as well.

Secondly, the L’Ospite apartments are very well located at the beginning of the charming neighbourhood of Veronetta. Within 10 minutes you can walk to the heart of Verona either through the old town itself, along the beautiful, tree lined, Adige river with its views of the hills and bell towers and churches of Verona or through Veronetta itself. Practically on the apartment’s doorstep you will find a green-grocer, family run restaurant, bakery, coffee shops and coin operated washing machines and dryers. A few minutes further there is a good supermarket and other restaurants and specialty food shops. The neighbourhood of Veronetta itself is charming with its pastel coloured residential buildings which seem to have changed little from the middle ages.

We were also impressed by the how well the apartment was cleaned on the cleaning day.

Finally, there is the jewel that is Verona itself. The Roman Arena, the Piazza Erbe, the Adige river, the bell towers and churches, the old winding streets, the castel, the small piazzas which have more locals than tourists, the coffee shops, the restaurants, the fashion, the aperitivos and the people watching. This city has everything the larger cities have but in a way that seems more manageable and charming.

Verona is centrally located between Venice and Milan and both cities can be reached within 1 – 2 hours by train. The smaller daytrip cities such as Mantova, Padova and Cremona are half an hour to 1 hour away by train. Even closer is the Valpolicella wine region which is barely 20 minutes away. Accomodation and restaurants are cheaper in Verona than in Milan and Venice so making Verona your base will be cheaper even if you make several return train trips to either city.

If all this isn’t enough there is the beautiful Lake Garda which is barely 20 minutes away by train. Spending time at the lakeside towns of Bardolino, Lazise, Sirmione, Garda and Desenzano will take you to a completely different place and rejuvenate you in a way that only being near the water can.

We would recommend forgetting about checking in and out of hotels in different cities and making the L’Ospite apartments in Verona your base to see a very special part of Italy.

I spent a week at this fine B&B in November. The hospitality that Federica offered us was beyond our expectation. She makes her guests feel like family! She inquires about your interests and offers ideas and helps with taxi and train plans. She was wnderfully helpful.
The accommodations were comfortable, clean and inviting.
The location is convenient to the university and the downtown area. Verona is quite beautiful and we had access to everything we wished to visit from this great location. If I am fortunate enough to return to Verona, I will definately stay here again.

We recently spent 6 days at L'Ospite and enjoyed every part of it. Frederica is amazing--we were late coming in on the train and when we arrived she was standing at the curb with an umbrella to help us through the rain. I have no idea how long she had waited but it was such a welcome relief to have her smiling face and helpful
assistance throughout our stay. The facility is clean, spacious and comfortable. All the necessary amenities are readily available and Federica was always willing to help. There were several of us staying there in six rooms and everyone agreed that the facilities were excellent--the location is also a real plus! We look forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: We saw all the rooms and each one was excellent. i will take any room available in future visits.

Last summer (2011) we stayed for 3 weeks at L'Ospite in Verona. Federica was so gracious and helpful to us. She even took us for a walk around the neighborhood, where we found our favorite and most reasonable Verona restaurant. Federica would always ask if we needed information on events and then explain how to get to these events. Our accomodations were spacious, very clean, and located within an easy walk of most major attractions. We will always have such fond memories of our stay at L'Ospite in Verona and hope someday to return.
