We are pleased to confirm the value of TA reviews and the positive reviews of L'Ospite. Federica is very professional and hardworking person who dedicates herself to making your stay as comfortable as possible. She understands the travelers needs and attends to every detail. We felt very much at home and enjoyed discovering things in the locality. Verona has lots to offer and Lake Garda is only 20 mins by train. Recommend Sermione if you like Roman ruins!

We stayed at L'ospite apartments in Verona as a result of the excellent referral from Lonely Planet book. We were not disappointed. The apartment was spacious and adequate for 2 couples travelling together. Unfortunately due to our change of plans and arriving a day early, we were given the top apartment, so getting our bags up 3 flights of stairs each weighing 20 kgs was a bit daunting. I liked the view from the dining room window that overlooked homes and a great view of a mountainside in the distance.

The location of the apartment was close to everything we needed. It was only a 5 minute walk to Piazza Erbe. The walk up and down the stairs was a great way for us to lose some of the calories from the many wonderful places to sit down and eat.

I guess what I liked the most about L'Ospite was the friendliness and helpfulness of our host Federica, the free wi fi, and the cost effective rates of the rooms, and its location to all two main piazzas.

Room Tip: Apartment 5 has great views

We first stayed here in 2008 on a recommendation from a friend, and returned this year (2011).

The location, just across the bridge from the street with Juliet's house, over a great, little trattoria, and five minutes' walk from a mini-mart with a fantastic deli counter, make this a perfect location.

The great thing about staying here is that not only did we have access to so many great restaurants, but because we had our own kitchen, we could totally indulge ourselves with local produce from local shops.

Federica is a great host and we really felt we were being looked after by a friend. We will certainly be returning in the next year or two.

My husband and I stayed for three nights in room #3 and can confirm all the wonderful things said about Frederica and the apartments. We enjoyed living independently and like a local while knowing that Frederica was there to help out if needed. In fact, she did help out immensely with recommendations and with laundry so we had fresh clothes to wear for the second part of our trip. (We, and anyone who had to come into close proximity to us, thank her for that). Room #3 was a two bedroom set-up with a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom (with hair dryer). As the weather turned cold and rainy, it was nice to come back to the apartment after a day of sightseeing and make our own hot tea. It’s an easy walk to most of the tourist sites. We took the cab to/from the train station when we had luggage but otherwise used the bus without problem. We’d recommend dinners at Trattoria Al Scalin (around the corner on the right) and the Trattoria next door for very good food and a sense that you’re part of the local community. Shopping at the local fruit market, mini-supermarket, and bakery and trying out our tour-book Italian and pantomiming were a lot of fun. When getting cash from ATMs, it felt safer to use the ATMs near the apartment instead of in the touristy part of Verona.
