Right in the heart of Verona, only a block from the main shopping thoroughfare, B&B Due Terrazze offers both convenience and a wonderful, quiet sanctuary. Shopping and all the main sights are within easy walking distance, with Juliet’s house and the Piazza delle Erbe only a block away. At the same time, it was so quiet on the street that we were able to sleep with our windows open.

Alessandro, the proprietor who lives on site, is an extremely gracious host, providing fresh pastries and yummy cappuccino for breakfast, dispensing advice on restaurants and sites to see, and graciously complimenting me on my elementary Italian (he also speaks perfect English and Japanese).

Having recently undergone a complete renovation, Due Terrazze provides charm, style and comfort. The rooms are new and modern without the sterility of a large hotel. Unfortunately, our schedule (and intermittent rain) didn’t permit us to spend as much time as we would have liked enjoying a meal or a bottle of wine on the lovely terrace at the back.

Alessandro spared no expense in his renovation, providing some of the things you don’t often find at accommodations in old city centers: lots of hot water (there were 3 of us), comfortable beds, a full-size hair dryer.

Yes, you need to navigate stairs, but it’s only one flight and they aren’t steep. As others have said, if you have difficulty climbing stairs, maybe staying in a B&B in an old city center isn’t the best choice for you.

Verona is a magical city. I will definitely be back, and when I do, I will be staying at BB Due Terrazze again! We paid less than half as much for this lovely room as we did for our noisy room in Venice. Next time, I’ll stay in Verona and take the train over to Venice for the day.

A couple of important tips:
If you leave your room to go to the kitchen, either leave your door open or take your key! The rooms lock automatically and we locked ourselves out. Alessandro was at a soccer game so we had to wait for a couple hours for him to return to let us back in. Fortunately, he provides a selection of wines in a case in the dining area, so we opened a bottle and enjoyed sitting and talking with other guests.

It’s a little tricky to find. The only indication of its location is on a small plate by the doorbell. Make sure you have Alessandro’s phone number and that he knows what time you’re arriving. The B&B is in a courtyard behind a locked iron door. Only Alessandro can let you in when you first arrive.

We were not often able to find parking within the restricted zone right around the B&B, but just across the river in the neighborhood (a couple blocks at most) we were able to find plenty of free street parking. Just make sure you remember where you parked your car – the river runs in a loop around that area of town and you could end up walking a long way in the wrong direction (I speak from experience!)

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms, so they're all good. Two of them, however, have their own access to the terrace in the back.

Alessandro was exceptionally accommodating & it's hard to find a better location. Parking is difficult & expensive if you have a car but on e you are there, you don't want to leave. Easy walking distance to all major sites & good food.
Of particular note was the help Alessandro gave us when my wife forgot her phone. He was very responsive & met us 3 days later driving backup the B&B & finding parking just to connect with us to ensure we retrieved the phone. Grazie Alessandro!!!

After walking from the train station we were greeted by the smiling face of Alessandro. What a delightful welcome we received, a cup of tea and chat before he showed us to our room and explained how everything worked. Lots of helpful tips on places to see and where to eat and he also was able to provide us with a map of Verona. The room we had looked out over the outdoor area and had windows that could be opened for fresh air if needed. There were also shutters on the windows that could be closed at night if you liked the room to be darkened. We found the area to be very quiet at night which made sleeping easy. We were able to keep food and drinks in the community fridge in the kitchen. The B&B was very clean.
The location of the B&B was ideal. Very close to the arena, which would be great if you were going to the opera. We found that we could walk to all the sights around this beautiful city, very close to all the shops and piazzas. Lots of eating places nearby.
Breakfast was toasts, croissants, fruit and yoghurt and was a great chance to talk to other guests but also gave us the opportunity to chat with Alessandro. He is a charming host.
We spent 3 nights with Alessandro and can thoroughly recommend his B&B.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Alessandro was a very gracious host! Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Free wifi available on multiple devices. Bathroom was nice and modern. Location was such that you could walk to Piazza Dele Erbe or just about anywhere else. Nice shopping along the main street.

We look forward o coming back to staying with Alessandro again.

My husband and i spent 2 lovely nights atB&B 2 Terrazze in October. Alessandro couldn't have been more charming or helpful. (He even let me practise my fractured Italian on him!) Our room was modern, chic, comfortable and sparkling clean with our own access to the terrace. The location was excellent...we walked to everything and it was easy and fast to take the bus from the train station to the b&b. Alessandro called a cab for us on departure and it was at the door immediately. We loved Verona and would stay again at 2 Terrazze in a heartbeat. I cannot recommend this place too highly!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms with access to the terrace!
