If you go to Verona you simply have to visit this museum / castle. It is pretty impressive and very close to the Piazza Bra. The buses stop outside. well worth a visit

This museum is outstanding and an absolute must when visiting Verona. Firstly the building itself is really interesting and at the top offers a stunning panoramic view of Verona. All the art work is beautifully presented and very well curated. The frescoes are incredible and I have not seen so many of such high quality in one place before. Equally the paintings are of exceptional quality. My only criticism was that there was one security gentleman who I gather was a municipal employee who was most officious and was literally looking at everyone as if they were about to steal a painting, you could just sense he was looking for a reason to chastise you and he did saying I was too close to a painting whilst returning the information sheet back in its box! I must add that all the female security staff who I believe were students and who worked for an agency were delightful and a credit to the museum.

I enjoyed wandering over this huge castle, looking at art work and sculptures, discovering history and having a view over the town. Well worth a visit.

There is a large museum with a very good display of early renaissance art, largely by second tier artists. If you know a bit about art history it’s very good; if not you might get Madonna fatigue ...
The walk along the battlements offers good views of the city and the river Adige
On balance worth a visit.

Beautiful castle & well arranged collection of museum exhibits mainly religious but in excellent condition. Not too hot today at 28°c but no air conditioning would be very hot in the height of summer. Lots to explore and great views but very little in the way of facilities one hole in the floor toilet with a door that wont lock could be fun if youd dont have someone to watch the door. No refreshments but plenty of cafe's nearby. Essy to spend 2 hours here so lots to see though children younger than teenagers would bore very quickly. Some english translation on the exhibits & some dead ends in the passageways. Some staff comically rude but not as bad as experienced by the one star reviewers.
