“Beautiful courtyard inside.”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

The inner courtyard is beautiful. There's plenty of historical frescos inside the church - very old, good to see once. It looks beautiful on the outside with the different layers of bricks alternating - unusual.

“Wonderful”

Tree masterpieces to see in this beautiful church: the Mantegna tryptic, the wooden crucifix, the bronze door. Not to be missed, one of the highlights of the city.

“Interesting inside and outside”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

This is one of the many nice churches in Verona and we were aiming to visit S.Zeno as it is having the style and the interiors interesting.
My advise would be to spend some time to have a very close look to the exterior of the church - with the full Fortuna Wheel and the scenes of the new and old testament it is by all means a worth looking and studying at! Great place.
Inside - it is equaly interesting - frescos, statues and so on - the best is to take a leaflet of the entrance (you have to pay 2,5 euro for a single church or 10 euro for all churches worth visiting in Verona) - there are group of scholl kids coming in May June - so please be ready to some noisy environment.

Otherwise it is great place to have a deeper look on the city history and the great example of Romanesque churches.

“Wonderfull example of ancient crafts”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

When visiting Verona, definitely take the effort to visit this wonderfull church. Although all brochures say it is "outside" the city, it will only take you a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Castelvecchio. The church dates back to the 11th century and is a beautifull example of the craftsman in those days were capable of. Of course the church has been renovated and redecorated over the centuries, but it still is one of the most beautifull churches we have seen in Italy.
