Went to see Leonard Cohen ( my love ) here and it was fantastic despite it having rained that afternoon. It had actually poured but only for about 20 min's, enough to cool the evening off. Fortunately, when it stopped, the skies were blue and cloudless and it didn't rain again. So, with this open sky venue, come prepared if it's an evening show- bring something in case you tend to get cool (of course this depends on the time of year). You can rent seat cushions there, so need to lug along something if you don't have to. Paninis were sold in the stand, but they were disgusting, however I ate it because I was starving... bring your own food. Popcorn was also being sold- didn't have any. There was an intermission, which was a nice break to get up and wander a bit. Merchandise was sold beforehand outside... My accommodations were close enough to walk home to making it a convenient location. This being said, it's about a 15 minute walk from the train station.

We toured the Arena on another visit a few years earlier. Just think of what went on there! Interesting
Adriano Celentano was practing for his concert that was to be held in the Arena a few days after we left. But every night we would see at the Piazza Bra and listen to him as we drank.

This arena is right in the heart of town and there are two separate things to see--the actual arena itself where one can walk all over the rows and rows of steps and aisles... The view of surrounding buildings and the town is lovely from the top. Not recommended for the elderly or those with bad knees/limited mobility. Down in the interior chambers of the arena, during the Christmas season, is a large collection of nativity scenes from all of the world. It was cold and damp down there, but was a memorable way to spend Christmas Day. The two "entries" are separate tickets/fees, about 6 or 7 euros each. Both very much worth it.

We visited the arena late afternoon and loved that we could wander around both the seating and the playing surface with little limitation, we loved the view over the Verona Christmas markets as the sun was setting and soaked up the history of this well preserved monument, we thought it worth the entry fee of 6 euro.

On a normal day you 6 Euros to visit and it is so not worth it, but for 1 Euro (first Sunday of the month off season) it is worth a look
