I stayed in the Gabbia d'Oro for a couple of nights, and it's a quiet little hotel in the center of Verona. The decor was charming, but the hotel felt tired and dated. It was the type of place your grandparents might stay, but no one under 55. In addition, it was annoying that the bathroom lacked a proper shower and had only a tub with a handheld shower head. Also, I had asked the reception for a wake up call, but it never came, so I almost missed my meeting. Finally, my room lacked storage space and had only a tiny desk space to set up a laptop and do work. All in all, the hotel was okay for a short stay but not someplace I would come back to.

if you don't mind to stay in an older propriety (no it's not modern at all) , where the rooms are actually quite small, this is the perfect place. Beautifully located in piazza delle erbe with a warm welcoming and friendly staff (something difficult to find in italy) this is a wonderful place.
As another highlight they serve a breakfast that emphasizes on quality of the food . In a country where most hotels try to serve you the cheapest quality at the highest price this is a very welcome exception.

I think we got a special on the room but at 280euro/night for a junior suite, it's not that much of a value. It was more junior than suite but well appointed, comfy bed and cute little balcony looking onto the square which was lively in the evening but good double pane windows kept out most of the noise. The best is the location just next to the main square "Piazze Erbe" and the worst was the restuarant recommendations which turned out to all be tourist traps with so-so menus and high cost. If you like to pay a lot for rooms so you have the feeling of being well heeled without actually getting too much that is special, than go for it.

From the moment we arrived when we found our bags whisked from the taxi into the hotel before we had even left the taxi, this hotel delivers in service like we have never experienced. Super friendly and heldful staff in the most beautiful hotel in town. The staff were helpful and honest with what to do, where to eat and drink in Verona. Absolutely worth every cent. Would recommend this place for anyone staying in Verona.
