Hotel Monaco
Ranked #64 of 77 Hotels in Verona

The hotel is located in an industrial estate, however, as we had our own car, it was not a problem driving into the centre of Verona. The autostrada is close by, and a day trip to Lake Garda takes about 30 minutes. We found the service to be very good. I wouldn't use the internet at the hotel as it is very expensive. Better still, take your laptop etc downtown and use the numerous free Wi-fi spots at the various cafes. We found the breakfast to be below par, a lot of pre-packed pastries and the choice was limited, although my wife loved the coffee. Overall, the room was big, very clean with A/C, which was a godsend as the weather was very hot (July). It suited our needs as a base to go to other places. Tourist tax is now payable from 1st August 2012.

This hotel is located in an industrial estate. There is a bus that takes about 15 minutes to reach the Central Station (10 minutes in cab). The staff sells bus tickets at the reception if you need some.
When we arrived, we wanted to eat something (there is a restaurant), but it appeared we could not eat there. Why? We never knew, but the waitress proposed us to eat salad (thankfully, that's what we wanted to eat! but still... why does your opening hours do not apply to everyone?). Then, the rooms. It was quite well, until we step into the bathroom. It looks good, but when you look closer, you can see some bugs on the floor. The shower was even worst. It looks clean, but I had to take my shower with sandals as I was afraid a bug come on my feet. That was really disgusting. The breakfast was not bad, more choices that you can find at other locations in Italy. As we were going to sit on a chair we discover a little table garbage filled with ants... I do not recommend this hotel, there is some lack of property and/or maintenance.

This hotel is not in the very center of the town, does not have beautiful scenes, but is clean, quite good breakfast. The wireless is missing (for Mac users - take adapter cable, if you like to use the expensive internet connection), lift is slow and sometimes something is missing in the breakfast, taxi cannot be ordered for next early morning, but to be in Italy, generally things were running smoothly. The bus 61 to downtown is OK, but remember the schedule: after dinner downtown you need taxi, or walk 5 km...

Room Tip: Alarm clock and toilette sounds from the neighbor room were rather clearly heard.

This hotel is set out in an industrial estate with a shuttle bus which was ironicaly full for the whole day we were there but there is a bus service nearby which stiops at about 5 so build in a taxi fare home of about 15 euros if you oplan on going to town! hotel was very basic with grotty showers & none too helpful staff. also watch out you don't press the sky button on the remote control or you'll get charged 25 euros!

Although the hotel is located at the industrial district, it's very close to the Verona exhibition pavilions (Veronafiera) and you have public transportation that can take you to the train station where you can either take another bus with the same ticket or just walk to downtown.
The hotel has a restaurant, accommodations are fair and prices are excellent.

This hotel is far from the center, with no buses in the evenings (after 7) or on Sundays. The breakfast is pretty bad. The rooms are decently clean, but not nice in any way. One staff person told us there was a bus to the central station on sunday and then on sunday another one told there wasn't, so we had to pay 18 euro for a taxi. If you don't really intend to see verona, and like sitting in depressing restaurants, this is the place for you.

Hotel is average close to motorway and about 7 km from the city center. Rooms are clean, but basic. TV has programs only in Italian and one is in English. Internet fee is too high - 9 EUR per day. Breakfast is ok, but it could be improved with few types of salami. Staff is very friendly.
