“Superb hotel - location, standard and staff.”
Reviewed March 8, 2013 via mobile

We tagged a night in Verona onto a long weekend in Milan and found this hotel to be very conveniently placed to see the lovely old town in a day. We arrived from the train station by taxi (ten euros) but its only a fifteen minute walk and the hotel staff were at the door to talk our bags. We were checked into our room early even though it was only 11am and for an additional ten euros were upgraded to a superior room with jacuzzi (room 204). Very nice standard of room and stunning bathroom, both spotlessly clean. Staff were very helpful finding us a restaurant (a large percentage od restaurants are closed on Monday evenings). We ate at La Griglia, five minutes walk away, wonderful food, wine, service and a real fire that was used for some cooking. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely with freshly made cappuccino to order. The only little niggle was that the hotel put down the metal shutters while we were at dinner and this meant that we could not have the cooling breeze of the window open during the night so the room was very hot. It is just something to be aware of so that you can realise this before you go to bed rather than, as we did, discover it during the night and not be able to rectify then because the shutters are noisy in operation! It didn't spoil our stay though. I would very heartily recommend this lovely hotel in every way.

Thank you, Sirs! We're happy you appreciated our superior room with shower and bath tub jacuzzi... it's true: the room is lovely, we like it so much, too.
I want to explain you what "couverture" is. This is a service made by high quality hotels (from 4 stars). It means that our staff, when the guest are out to have dinner (at about 7.00-8.00 pm), enter the rooms and tidy them up, closing windows, putting clean towells or cleaning if it's necessary. This is the reason because you found windows closed, but it's possible to open them. Next time, please, if you need any help, call the front desk (it's possible pressing 9 on the phone and we are at your disposal 24 hours).
We hope you decide to come back to Verona and stay with us again!
Thanks!!

The other reviews, they do not lie. This is a genuinely excellent hotel. Perfect location right in the middle of Verona, next to the Arena but down a quiet side street. Easy walking distance to everything of interest, including the train station (about 15 minutes), the riverside (similar distance), and the main square (around 5 mins). Service is outstanding - incredibly friendly and helpful front desk. Decent breakfast - buffet with cereals, pastries, breads, meats, cheeses etc.

The rooms are spotless, modern, reasonably spacious, and very comfortable. Only minor issues were with sleep quality: a combination of extremely hard pillows, and lack of sound insulation from other rooms (shower noises and walking around in other rooms could be heard quite clearly), meant sleep quality wasn't up to what I would have hoped.

But that aside the hotel exceeded expectations and I would be happy to return and recommend it to anyone!

Thank you for the nice feedback. We're happy you appreciated our service.
We usually have no problems with the pillows (in Italy these are the standard pillows), but we take note about your comment and discuss about it with the Direction.
We're sorry for the noises from the rooms close to yours: some guests are not so polite and make noises during the night.
We thank you again for having spent your time to comment our hotel.
Thanks!!

When reading other reviews, I had in mind a romantic hotel with detail and special touches for the romantic at heart! This is not the case, the closes it got to romantic is the little hearts printed on the soap bottle but...

Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious, bathrooms are modern and clean and with enough towels!

Breakfast was of the best we have had, variety and again, form all the European countries we have been to, Italy beat them all when it comes to customer service, coffee being served, special needs attended to, we loved our two days in Verona!

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator area as they are quite noisy at night and early in the morning

Thank you for your comment. You're right: our staff at breakfast works very well.. and make a delicious cappuccino :-)
The name of our hotel is "Giulietta e Romeo" and I can understand you expected to find hearts everywhere.. But we prefer to have simple, modern and not tacky rooms. Our guests are lovers but also friends, families or people who stay here for job. But we take not about your suggestion and try to improve our service.
Thank you again for the nice words.. se you soon, as we hope!

This hotel is in a perfect location near arena and most attractions.

Verona was one of the best surprises in Europe, and this hotel was our best surprise in Verona.
The hotel is 3 stars but they are better than most 5 stars I ever saw.

The staff was simply perfect. I parked my car in the front and 3 employees appeared almost instantly before I even put my feet on the street: a girl to start my check in, a guy to help me with the baggage and other to park the car, and my country flag was on the mast. I felt like a king.

After checkin I checked the rooms (one with large bed for me and my wife, other with two beds for my children on next door exactly as I asked) and both were just perfect. New furniture, nicely decorated with a large picture of Verona, large bathroom with a hydro bathtub on mine. A staff member (Giovanni, please forgive me if wrong name) bring all my luggage upstairs.

I needed to check reservations again to confirm the price and yes: it was the less expensive from my whole 23-day 5-country vacatiin in Europe!

I will return to Verona and Giulietta e Romeo for sure when come back to vacation in Europe and I recommend the city and the hotel to all my friends.

I have just returned from a long weekend in Verona and found the hotel was perfect. The location is in the centre of everything you would want to see and surrounded by great restraunts. The staff were very friendly and always there to help. I stayed in the superior room with the balcony, would highly recommend, the room was very modern and kept very clean. Also like the fact they provided a small book about Verona. Couldn't fault the experience at all. If you are considering a holiday here I would recommend this hotel.

Just back from a weekend in Verona. Had a really good stay at the hotel. The Hotel was easy to find as so close to the Arena just off the main square. The room was modern and clean. we did sleep in the first night as the evening staff had been in the room and lowered the outside shutters which we hadn't realised I was expecting to be woken up by the sunlight. Staff help us with recommendations for places to eat and drink. We also wanted to see if tickets were available for a concert in the town, they looked up details on line for us and pointed out where the ticket office was and when it would be open.

We did use the gym which again was clean and had new equipment in it, but take your own water down as there isn't any in the gym. Overall hard to fault the hotel great place and good value for money.

Cool hotel in Verona right next to the Arena and the main shopping street. Staff are very helpful and speak excellent English. My room was very modern with a large comfortable king size bed. Couldn't ask for more. Price was very reasonable and would definitely recommend. Location perfect.
