i booked this hotel for one night on my way to Venice, no one told me I have to pay 15 euro extra to get in their Spa.
very very small room, but good for one person, since I did not have much luggage.
breakfast is okay.
about 15-20 minutes walking to downtown, 25-30 minutes walking to the Arena, hotel locates on the other side of the river.
It is a hotel with SPA, so you can smell it in the lobby.
front desk staff are very helpful.

The San Marco Hotel is a lovely hotel to spend a few days at, it is certainly not central to Verona and is more than a short walk outside of the city walls. The hotel is very nice but too far from the city centre for most people to stay. Our room was spacious but was above the entrance to the hotel, which was quite busy early in the morning when coach parties were taking off.

We used the hotel as a base to visit Verona, Lake Garda and Venice. The train station is a short walk from the hotel. We spent our first day in Verona visiting the sights and taking a trip on the sightseeing bus. Day two we spent in Sirmione and Desenzano on Lake Garda. The third day was spent in Venice, our second visit to this wonderful city. The last day was spent visiting other parts of Verona that we missed the first day. The Roman ruins were fabulous.

The hotel has two pools, an indoor and outdoor pool. Whist we were there it was not warm enough to use the outside pool, but we did take advantage of the indoor pool and spa.

Breakfast at the hotel was always filling with eggs cooked to order.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the front of the hotel, it will be much quieter in the morning.

We've spent a wonderful time in Verona thanks to this hotel, access to spa area was included in our offer (which included free upgrade to luxury room with jacuzzi!) - all that helped A LOT after a day of waling in Verona city center. Hotel is a bit outside historic center but reachable by walking, anyway spa relax and rich breakfast makes it the best option.

We stay in this cice Hotel near the center of Verona and to the Fair. Railway station at 10 minutes by taxi. Excellent breakfast. Nice staff and service. Lovely Arena and Piazza delle Erbe in the center of Verona. Recomended.

On a main bus route into the city centre, but a good half an hour's walk. Initial reception was rather frosty and no concern we'd been given a twin instead of a double. However, that rectified the new room was fine. The bathroom however, even though it was a "disabled" room, was lethal. Slippery floor, sloping-floored bath and a shower screen so inhibiting as to make it dangerous. There were handrails. More worrying was the unsealed controls for the hydro bath jets that were showing exposed wiring right on the edge of the bath!! The outdoor pool was lovely and welcome albeit with a dearth of sun loungers. Take your own towels, they charge 2€ to hire! The spa however was 15€ each for use so we declined. Breakfast was rather good. The free coach shuttle for the opera is a real bonus and very welcome with it finishing at 1am. Receptionists much more friendly on checkout. It's an okay hotel but I'd look elsewhere next time considering the price.

This hotel was the most disappointing of the four we stayed in during our trip to Italy. Apparently it has two parts, an older and a newer, and we were staying in the older part. It definitely felt like a hotel from the 80s or 90s - no key card access, only a large fob; old and tired bathroom suite, bed had only one pillow each and inadequate quilt, supplemented by scratchy blankets from the wardrobe (which we also used to prop up our pillows).

Breakfasts were also a little disappointing; not bad but the toaster was extremely poor and would not brown a slice of bread after two or even three goes through, and the selection of fruit on offer compared poorly to other hotels.

Staff were very friendly and helpful however and the free Wi-Fi connection worked fine while we were there. We did not use the pool as we were planning, as disappointingly it is mostly in shade throughout the day.

There was a free shuttle bus laid on for the opera we attended on the Saturday evening, which was very helpful, however the return bus we expected did not turn up after 20 minutes wait so we ended up walking back. The location is fine for Verona city centre however and we made the journey into town by foot easily at least once a day.

Room Tip: Avoid the old area if possible, although not sure how!

Decent 4 star hotel, little bit far from the city center (arena, etc.) but still walking distance (around 15-20 min). Indoor & outdoor swimming pools are great, I stayed in this place 5 times already.
