“Decent place near city center”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Clean and simple. Within walking distance to Arena and most tourist sights. Once you check in and shown the ropes (and pay!) you are pretty much on your own. Self service breakfast and shared toilet/bathroom for some rooms. So if you need something you have to call them a couple of doors down, but it is not a real problem. The location makes it worth while.

As others have mentioned when we arrived and rang the bell we had to wait for someone to come from another building to let us in but this was only a couple of minutes. We were shown around the apartment and given a map and general advice, which was much appreciated. We had a twin room with shared bathroom. We couldn't quite work out the number of rooms as some where marked private but seemed to have guests staying in them but didn't have any problems finding a free bathroom when we needed one. The room was a decent size and was really clean adn well decorated. The kitchen had a coffee maker and water dispenser, with cereals, yoghurts etc for breakfast. The location was perfect; a short walk from the train station and near all the main attractions. Overall the apartment was great, our only gripe really was lack of air con. I think some rooms had it and it was on in the hallway but our room didn't have it so it was a bit hot and sticky at times.

After reading all the horror stories with this place, my girlfriend and I were unsure about booking it just for one night during our whirlwind tour of Italy. However, I must say, it was one of the best places we stayed.
On arrival, we had to call a number and a lady arrived to let us in and show us round the apartment. The room was huge (we had booked the double room with private en suite) and the en suite looked brand new. The bed was comfy, and the room was clean. I cannot fault it really. The B&B is basically someone's apartment with locks on all the bedrooms. I don't think the owner actually stays there, however, we never saw anyone, just heard the occasional door shut. The kitchen had a coffee maker and water cooler, so no problems there. There was also cereal and other breakfast foods available, along with milk in the fridge.
The location was great; just a 5 minute walk to Piazza Bra, which houses the Arena and loads of restaurants. From the plaza, the sightseeing begins, and you can follow the streets to Juliet's balcony, etc, etc.

The apartment was great, no problems at all and we would happily book it again. I would recommend asking for the room we had (I think it was number 3) to ensure you get the best room and private bathroom. By the sound of the other reviews not all the rooms were as good as ours.

Room Tip: Ask for room number 3, with the private en suite.

when we first arrived we had to call a person to let us in. for 2 nights it was $300 so i don't know if it was actually worth the money. it was very close to everything. my only PRO. the room was ok. well kept, but the door handle was broken. i chose the private external bathroom which was fine but it makes so much noise using those big skeleton keys to get into. it feels a little crowded especially when all the other rooms were being occupied. kind of felt like a hostel to me. the lady who registered us didn't know crap about the rooms. she didn't even know which one was our private bathroom so initially i was using the "general" bathroom that everyone else was using. there is no one there for help. they leave after they register you in. i would only go here for location and check the prices for other places because $150/night is not worth it in my opinion

We stayed here for just one night whilst visiting Verona as part of a trip around Italy. The best thing about this B&B is undoubtedly the location - 5mins walk from the Arena and close to the station as well.

The B&B itself is a converted apartment in a block with touch code access to the main front door and apartment, which is essentially a corridor with rooms off it. The young man who arrived after we pushed the intercom was helpful enough but they clearly do not live on site and therefore there is no service as such after the check in. However the kitchen is available for self service breakfast and fridge etc seemed to be able to be used all day.

Our room was adequate for one night. It was a triple room with a double bed (thin mattress on a frame - unsprung so not recommended for anyone with back problems!) and a single bed which we were asked not to use. We had paid extra for a 'private external bathroom' but the only thing private about it was the sign on the door. We were aware that others were using it (and indeed we note other reviews include this as a third bathroom) so probably not worth the extra money.

One major issue was that the air con wasn't working and the only remote for the whole apartment pnly worked for the communal corridor. Not too bad as we could open windows and it was fairly quiet but the night we stayed was mild not hot. In addition the breakfast is basic to say the least - cheap cereals and bread for toast, UHT milk and packet cakes/cheese/ham.

That said if you want budget accommodation or want to be close to the centre of Verona this isn't a bad little place. If you like spending time in a good hotel room or have issues sharing bathrooms this is not for you and we would recommend staying a short train journey away in Lake Garda where we had a lovely hotel for not that much more money.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights at beginning of May. Our room was fabulous - the complimentary snacks and brew facilities were very welcome and unexpected give previous reviews. Although no ensuite there were three bathrooms so no problem there and everything was clean. The bed was very comfy and we loved the DIY breakfast - especially the good coffee machine! Location is absolutely superb and no way would you get such a central location for the price we paid in the UK. I would recommend the Rigoletto to anyone and hope to stay there again if I return to Verona.

Room Tip: Ask for the room at the back with the balcony!

The owner was really friendly and helpful, and our bedroom was quite cosy; furniture was modern, the bed was pretty comfortable, toilet was ample and very clean. Besides, a nice breakfast was served (assorted pastries, cereals, yoghourts...)

I'd recommend this hostel to everyone who wishes to spend a quiet night of rest and explore Verona on foot, as location is rather handy too. This is also a nice choice for a romantic trip, too.
