Our hotel recommended this restaurant, as we had asked for a fish menu, and we were very impressed with both the selection of fish dishes and the superb service. We started with 4 different (and delicious) oysters from the waters around Italy, then we shared a magnificent fish, whose Italian name escapes me, but it looked like sea bream. It had been cooked in salt, and we watched as the waiter filleted it expertly, separating bones and cooking parchment from meat. We enjoyed homemade bread and mixed salad with it, and a delicious dry white Italian wine, recommended by the waiter. To round off the evening we shared homemade ice cream and coffee. The bill was very reasonable indeed, the service excellent and the attention to detail superb. If you like fish in a typical Veronese restaurant, within easy walking distance from the city centre, then this is just the place to go. Enjoy!

We go to the big wine show, VinItaly every year. Heres where we go. This is a gem in Verona that is not a tourist destination. Great food and incredible wine list with local favorites. Fish is fresh and the chef/owner will stop by the table. It's on the pricey side but, worth every penny

If you look at most of the reviews here on TripAdvisor, they are superlatives by ITALIANS, who are among the more critical food writers. The superlatives are warrented. You are usually greeted in some way by the Chef/Owner, Simone'. He will sometimes show you to your table, and take your order. And then the amazing food comes out. Though a hundred miles from the sea, the seafood could not be fresher, and you will eat a lot of raw seafood here, including shrimps, which is a challenge the first time, but not the second time, as the flavor will blow your mind. Do crudo, do pasta, and do a whole branzino baked in salt. The room is country warm, quirky, and fun. The service warm, quirky, and fun. The food is spectacular, and the wine list is full of abundant opportunities. Hard to find, but walking distance from the old town.

Recommended by our hotel, Escalus. We were greeted at the door by the chef and one of the 3 servers. The amuse bouches - scallops and tiny scampi in a potato sauce - was substantial enough that we mistook it for the appetizer. We shared scampi in tomato sauce as the appetizer, so they decided to divide our main courses as well - home made pasta and swordfish for me, with an excellent Soave. Along with our cappuccinos, they served us more delicious biscotti-type cookies than we could eat.
