A great location for a bottle of wine, some delicious light food and to watch the Grand Canal world go by. We enjoyed a bottle of Cabernet for €25 accompanied by some scallops and light pasta dishes. Especially good are the 'Spritz' drinks (orange/red) that you'll see people drinking about the place. Made with Prosecco, Soda and either Campari or Aperol and Soda - very refreshing and easy drinking at €5 each.

The only drawback about this place is that it doesn't get the evening sun at all, but with cushions and blankets provided, it's easy to stay warm as the cool night air comes down and watch the gondoliers floating by in the fading light.

Good place to stop for a Bellini and to sample the cicchetti (small, individual servings - like tapas). The cichhetti can be ordered in either 6 or 12 pieces. Unless you are very familiar with all the offerings, I suggest going inside to the bar where you can see all the cicchetti on display and asking the bar man to explain each one to you. If you don´t do this, you will be given whichever ones they want to give you. However, I think it´s much better and more interesting to find out what each one is (there are about 8 or 10 different ones) and it is the job of the bar man or waiter to tell you what they are. So don´t be intimidated, just go and ask and you will be glad you did. Some of the ones we liked the best were the baccalao, the stuffed zucchini flowers with ricotta, the crab, and the mozzarella in carozza (lightly battered, fried ball of mozzarella with a tiny bit of anchovy on the inside). They also make a good Bellini. Go only when the weather is nice and you can sit outside and enjoy the cicchetti and the location. The inside is rather small and like most of their waitstaff, a bit short on charm. Very close to Rialto Mercato stop on the 1 line.

Went to this place after reading the reviews. I just didn't like the place.
We sat inside by the little counter, the place was hot as hell inside and the food was not good.
Got the octopus which just had some olive oil and salt sprinkled over it. Since the food is on display on the counter, pretty much all day, the octopus was just room temperature and didn't taste good. I drank my glass of wine and left very disappointed. The staff was not friendly or attentive so it was just not a good experience. The water glass smelled like the canals...not good. Would not recommend this place.

We came to this place by accident- headed to the location next door- which was too loud. We're really glad because this food was excellent, there was a lot to watch and the location was fabulous.
This was our first meal in Italy and it surpassed expectation.

We wanted somewhere cool and different to eat on our last night in Venice and we were getting a bit over the generic Italian resturants.Al Pesador was fanstastic The location was great the service fanstastic and the food just perfect.

We choose this restuarant purely on account of its location and menu and because it looked different and a little bit more interesting. It did not disappoint, It was also well priced. If you are lookng for somewhere to eat near Rialto you cannot go wrong here.
