“A pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

The hotel is tucked away in a rather quiet area although it's just a couple of blocks from the main tourist street, so it's convenient without being too noisy. The service is fine and the breakfast is sufficient.

We have a room at the attic on the 4th floor unfortunately the free wifi doesn't reach there so if wifi is important to you make sure you don't get that room. There are complimentary snacks and drinks in the dining room until evening but there is no lunch or dinner service.

Overall it's nothing special, no wow factor but the stay is pleasant anyway so as the city itself.

Just by reading all the reviews that have gone before it is obvious that this hotel offers everything that you need for a fabulous holiday. We could not have enjoyed it more, wonderful staff, lovely little touches, already planning a return visit. I won't go on as it's simply not necessary..........

Room Tip: I'm sure all the rooms are good

After trawling through the hotel reviews on Tripadvisor we eventually chose the Una as the hotel to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. After eventually finding it we were not disappointed.(5 minutes from water bus drop off point!) We were greeted by very friendly and efficient reception staff and taken to our lovely room. I had asked the hotel to place flowers in the room for my wife and these were ready and waiting and very nice. The hotel had also added a personal message wishing us a happy anniversary. They also surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade. The room was spacious, comfortable and had a lovely view over the canal.

Breakfast was good, with the choice of hot or cold meals. They also provided complimentary snacks and drinks in the afternoon and evening.

The Una is in a quiet spot which provided a very relaxing base from which we could explore Venice. Despite being out of the way it was only a couple of minutes from the nearest vaporetto stop which put you in easy reach of the surrounding area. It was a pleasant 10 minute stroll to Rialto and the heart of the city.

We went on the Cicchetti tour that we booked with Urban Adventures. It was a great night out as we did a "pub crawl" around 5 different local bars. None of which we would probably have found if it wasn't for this trip. We were taken around by Claire who had a real love for the place and gave us an interesting overview of the bars we visited and the history of the area. We met some lovely people and would thoroughly recommend this trip to any one.

Overall we loved this short holiday and will always remember our 10th wedding anniversary with some fantastic memories. If you are considering Venice then you should go for it, you won't be disappointed and the Una is the ideal starting point.

When you finally find this hotel, which is tucked away on a little used residential street and along a canal, you may be underwhelmed by the exterior appearance. Inside, the lobby is nice, but not spectacular. We were greeted by a desk clerk who was professional and extremely helpful in giving us advise as to where things were in the city. The rooms are on the small side, but very nicely furnished. Let's face it; we weren't in Venice to spend time in our room, so the room size didn't matter. We had a room that faced the street. The entire stay was really nice. In the morning, the silence was interupted by a single person walk down the street, and then silence again. It was wonderfully relaxing.
The hotel provided breakfast in a room off the lobby, which included everything from eggs, fish, fresh fruit, to pastries and baked goods. Each evening they offered wine and cheese in the same room.
I think we loved this hotel because it was quite, comfortable, relaxing, and in a simple way, luxurious. The staff was wonderful too.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

First about us - we are a couple in our 40s and this is our third stay in Venice. We decided to visit again - this time with our 8 year old son who loves to travel. We stayed at the Una for three nights and wish it was more.

This hotel is located in the Canareggio area of Venice. This is a largely residential area of Venice slightly off the usual tourist trail. The hotel is easily located about 5 minutes walk away from the Ca'd'Oro vaparretto stop over one small bridge. The hotel is located close to the Strada Nuova (shopping street) and about 10 minutes walk from Rialto Bridge and 20 minutes from St Mark's Square (it is difficult to walk quickly in Venice due to the number of people). Vaparetto from Ca'd'Oro to St Mark's takes about 20 minutes and run every 10 minutes at peak times.

The exterior of the hotel appears quite run down (as does most of Venice) but don't let this put you off. when you step through the sliding glass door you are in another world. The interior of the hotel is very modern but is also sypathetic to the origins of the hoel (a 14th century palace).

The immediate first impressions are good and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly providing maps and information without being overly pushy. There are three rooms on the ground floor where residents can relax aand chat. Complimentary wine, coffee, tea and juice are available from about 2.00 pm until 11.00 pm in the breakfast room along with biscuits, cakes and other snacks, which leads to a very sociable hotel. Residents appeared to mainly from the UK and USA and we had very interesting chats with other guests from as far apart Wisconsin to Texas in the USA and lots of fellow Brits. The complimentary drinks and snacks were not abused by guests and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed.

We booked a junior suite which comprised of a large sofa bed and a very large bathroom on the grouns floor and a staircase to a mezanine floor which had a huge bed and another large bathroom. Each floor had a large flatscreen TV linked to sky, however, except for al jeziera and BBC World news all channels were in Italian (but you are in Venice why do you want to watch TV?). The room and indeed the hotel ingeneral were spotlessly clean. All fittings and decor were to a very high standard. The room was hugh by Venitian standards, included a small balcony overlooking a wide paved footpath with a view of a canal to the side. I would definitely recomend the upgrade to the junior suite if you can manage it within your budget (rooms in Venice generallyconsist of space for a bed and a small wardrobe and little else)

Thank you for your review and for having included most of the aspects on which we are working daily for our guests and to let them have the same positive experience you had in our Hotel. Reading your review, we are pleased to give some space to the language options available on the TV in the rooms. The flat screens are all linked to SKY and the channels in English over to Al Jazeera and BBC are SKY Cinema 1, SKY Cinema Classic and SKY Cinema Max which transmit their movies in the original language, most of the time in English. Moreover, in our reading room close to the reception area, is available a TV offering the full bouquet of the Sky channels. .

With my best regards

Several of our art history group stayed here in March 2013 and loved the little touches that make the Una such a great hotel in Venice. The rooms are lovely and the service is outstanding. Thank you again - we look forward to the next time.
