Osteria Mocenigo is right around the corner from the top rated Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo and together they form two-thirds of a great trio.

Osteria Mocenigo is a long narrow comfortable room with interesting decorated niches along the wall. The night we visited there seemed to be as many locals as tourists – a good sign in Venice. The owner and one other waiter handled the dining room and, although the restaurant was busy, service was friendly and professional. The owner found time to visit with each table for a few moments – a nice touch.

The food was very good – my wife had fish and I had pasta – both dishes were very good. The wine list is short but had good selections and reasonable prices.

We didn’t try desert as one of the best gelaterias in Venice, Gelateria San Stae is just steps away.

Dinner at Osteria Mocenigo, desert at Gelateria San Stea and then back to Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo - it doesn’t get much better.

Managers and staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a English menu with a good selection. The restaurant is very popular, so I would recommend booking. We liked it so much we went back there again. Reasonably priced.

This restaurant is a little more upscale. The food was good but better than other restaurants we ate in in Venice. The service was excellent and the surroundings very nice. I think that locals frequent this place too. Good for a slightly “nicer” evening out.

To all TA friends... A MUST...
We were friendly received at 2:30pm as last guests and were not really sure about what to expect after our latest experience in Giudecca (84Eur for 2 w/o wine with just above average food quality)...
The starter for us 2 was just fantastic: pumpkin puree with grilled scallops and fried slices of zucchini... my goodness!!!
Then followed what I believed would be a simple pasta dish (zucchini again+tomatoes+shrimps)... it turned out to be a sensational experience thanks gaming others to the persil/garlic/basilic sauce in olive oil... my wife took spinach/ricotta raviolis with a home made exquisite tomato sauce...
AND GUESS WHAT? we ate in total for just an insane 40eur for US two ... Definitely UNFORGETTABLE!!!
