The Maitre'd was very skilled and polished. Seemed to shift effortlessly between discussing the menu and requests in Italian, English and French and did so each time with charm, in our experience.
We both had the scampi and sardine saor as a starter and both wanted the porcini risotto but felt that was a bit "lame" to have the same main as well, so I had the fillet with porcini sauce. Fantastic choice! Little bigger than other dishes I've had in Venice but enjoyed every mouthful. No space to try a dessert but my wife loved her's!
Good choices of wine by the glass. Caffe dopio a bit pricey at €18 (same overall cost as a glass of prosecco and a Spritz bitter) but won't let this detract from a surefooted restaurant whose staff appear at exactly the right time to top up your water, shortly after you finish and the whole thing is crowned by a chef well-aided by his staff at generating an evening of dining pleasure.
