“Good but not the best in Venice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

We booked dinner well in advance on the recommendation of a friend who had recently eaten there. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in traditional Italian style and is very comfortable.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was quick. We ordered the Autumn tasting menu which was i think 7 small courses. The food was very good in parts, but some courses were not as good as others. However we felt rushed during the meal with each course arriving on the table in very quick succession.

“unexpected delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

just arrived in Venice and we came across this restaurant just round the corner from our hotel. ~Went in for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and presentation of the dishes. Although a bit expensive for lunch, well worth it.

“Don't forget to confirm your reservation the day before, or it will be cancelled!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013 via mobile

Made a reservation weeks prior to our vacation and forgot to set up a reminder on my calendar. Sure enough with our busy vacation schedule I forgot to phone the day before and we lost the initial time. Fortunately our hotel saved the day and got us a later time. Wouldn't have wanted to miss this restaurant. They offer 2 tasting menus, a traditional or more adventurous seasonal option. - 80 euros/person. We chose the seasonal which included tuna tartar topped with a soft egg yolk topped with shaved truffles, a ravioli in clam broth presented in a cellophane package cut open at the table, veal cheeks with a reduced red wine sauce over potato pure and lots more. They are famous for their extensive wine list and suggested a Sauvignon blanc that was delicious for 32 euros.

Very professional service, you can see everyone watching the tables like hawks and it's clear the kitchen is a precision operation. Each course was piping hot and all were delicious with just right portions.

Because the restaurant is so busy they expect you to make fast decisions so I think we had about a minute each to consider the menu and wine options. Despite the jovial rush, they encouraged us to peruse the wine list just to see the selection, even though we had said we would leave the wine choice up to them. Before we were seated for dinner we sat outside and noticed a waiter cross the square and nip into a building, returning with 2 bottles. I asked if that building was for all their supplies but he said, no, just for their red wine storage. I asked how many bottles and he smiled and said, more than one.

The meal was nicely paced over 2 1/2 hrs. Soft music, easy to converse. A great place for your last meal in Venice.

“Appreciation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

We had a wonderful meal during our recent visit to Venice. At the end of meal paid our bill and proceeded back to our hotel approx. 30 minutes away. When we arrived at hotel was advised that the restaurant had just called and left a message that I had left my credit card there with copy of bill I had signed. During the course of the evening our waiter had casually inquired where we were staying. Cannot tell you how happy I was at the honesty and professionalism displayed that nite. Cannot thank them enough.

“Superb”

We had the tasting menu for lunch and it was delicious. Beautiful flavours expertly prepared. In a more subdued area of Venice which added to the experience. If you want a special, memorable dining experience, this is your place!
