We booked this restaurant about a month before coming to Venice, in high tourist season this is necessary. My guess is only about 10-12 tables. This place has been written up in the NY Times travel section, so lots of interest. There are 2 seatings - 7 and 9:30.
Our food was really outstanding, great first courses, pastas and fish. Fish and shrimp cooked perfectly. Hard for me to know if this was all truly authentic "Venetian"...but it was really good. Excellent wine list and staff was knowledgeable on flavor profiles of the wines.
This was the best meal we had in Venice, comparing it to some steep competition over 4 days of great food. This is worth a visit if you can plan ahead and make the timing work. It was also the most expensive meal we had; caveat emptor that it is expensive, in our view it was worth it...
Logistical note: we had been running behind and tried to call the restaurant to let them know we would be late...i had done all previous bookings via email. The staff speaks limited english, no problem when you are there but very difficult on the phone. We had to have the hotel call for us...not a problem for Italian speakers..!
